#11 in the first ranking. projected to play texas, then miami, then one of georgia/penn state/notre dame to get to the finals

PSU overated
I feel IU is untested and the landscape will change a lot. HD pointed out tonight there has been a 3 loss team in the top ten for a certain period of time. I can’t remember how long she said that was.

BYU a bye spot 😂

What a joke. The problem with college football is that the conferences are not in any way whatsoever even, but this new playoff model pretends that they are.

It should be seeding only that determines byes

When they expanded the playoffs, they had to make sure the weak conferences get a participation trophy.

You think boise's schedule is respectable? The one good team they have played, they lost

I meant respectable for them.

They lost on the road to the #1 team by 3 points and have wins over Wazzu and UNLV who at this moment are Bowl Teams.

So it's not egregious to put them at #12 right now.

I once again forgot that Oregon is in the B1G.

But still the system should not allow for a team barely in the Top 10 to be seeded that much higher than a #2 ranked team.
Yeah, that is weird, but that is the system's nod to conference championships.
If you just seeded teams 1-4 as getting a bye, then it would be a real benefit to be the 3rd best in the SEC.

This already shows how incredibly flawed the system is when BYU gets a Bye over tOSU.

HOW and WHY does the #2 have to play and the #9 get a Bye?

It's beyond moronic.

Because some idiot decided that the four highest ranked conference champions will get the top four spots and a bye - no matter how good they are, or even if they aren't ranked in the top 4. They need to change that next year to the top 12 teams, no matter who you are. But for this year we're playing everyone gets a medal football.
