article 2 section 1 is very specific. the birth certificate required is called a vault copy. i have one and yall have one as well. obamas certificate of live birth dosent satisfy the requirement. if you take time to read the findings of the people who have researched this it does make you ask questions, i do at least. its the huge elephant in the room no one is willing to acknowledge.

But, let's pretend for a moment that it does. You would be willing to embarrass this nation on the world stage, throw our government & country into turmoil, and make Joe Biden our president (VP takes over in the case of removal) BECAUSE HE SUBMITTED THE WRONG COPY OF HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
This infatuation of some would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

Admittedly this case seems far-fetched, but the fix is so easy. Look at whatever legally documents Obama's birth in the United States, find the delivering doctor (if he is still alive), the nurses (ditto), look at other evidence such as a hospital admission records or a birth announcement in local a newspaper, etc. I have to assume that this procedure has already been done, so I am not sure why Roberts would be willing to personally review the case again, unless it is out of respect for the Constitution and the very gravity of the case.

If this case has any merit (and I have no way of knowing it does) and the President is in fact, as alleged, not a natural born citizen of the United States, then heck yes, I would be willing to insist on Obama's removal and Biden's installation. Then any embarrassment and turmoil would be the results of the Democrat party's nominating and presenting as legal a candidate who was, in fact, not a legal candidate. The alternative is to deliberately overlook a material provision of the Constitution of the United States, which I find absolutely and categorically unacceptable.

It is curious to see an officer of the court so glib about compliance with the provisions of the Constitution. I don't know anything about the merits of the case and I share your skepticism about them, but the provisions of the fundamental law are as unforgiving as they are intended to be enforced. As they say, "Dura lex, sed lex."

Obama has a birth certificate on record. A copy of said certificate was been provided because that is Hawaiian law. Multiple Hawaiian officials have authenticated the birth certificate.
So what is the big freaking deal?
Yeah. It says nothing about original vault certificates being the only acceptable means of proving one's natural-born status.

It's not about which copy he produced, hopefully. I think it's more about if he is proven to be a natural born citizen or not. If the results of investigation are that he is a natural born citizen, regardless of the paperwork he produced, of course he shouldn't vacate and I don't think anyone would say he should (on those grounds, anyway).

Back several years ago I applied for a passport to go on a cruise to the Caribbean. Along with the original application, I was also required to submit a certified copy of my birth certificate. I did not have a certified copy, but I did have the original birth certificate from the hospital in which I was born, so I submitted that, thinking "what could be better?". Wrong. I received it back a couple of weeks later, stating that the original was unacceptable, and that I would have to get a certified copy of the birth certificate in order for my passport application to be processed, approved and issued. Luckily, I was born in Birmingham, so getting that document wasn't very difficult.
I relay this story only because sometimes government rules can be so picky!!
So if it's so important that I, as a private citizen, follow all the rules to the letter, what is it about BHO that makes him any different?

Having his case dismissed because he doesn't have standing apparently is less satisfying then having the court say, "we've looked at the documents, they appear genuine, and they state that he was born in Hawai'i."
States did not even start recording births on birth certificates until the mid-1800s, so I am not sure what they did before then, other than ask the candidate where he was born.
The state cannot release the original birth certificate. The individual can, however, but chose to use the version released by the state. This leaves open the window for conspiracy theorists (like the ones who say a missile hit the Pentagon in September 11) to wonder why.
You would probably have to ask the plaintiff (and Justice Roberts). If the plaintiff is the guy I am thinking of, he was the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and a Democrat (of course, you know how wacky Democrats are...)

It's not the party affiliation, it's the state. I lived there for 6 years, and if there was a way to screw something up, they'd find it, Democrats and Republicans alike.
Admit it. If this were Bush Jr. the left would be saying how secretive he was being. I don't think there is anything to any of this but BHO did promise a new tone and an administration of openess and transparency. Why doesn't he just order the birth certificate in Hawaii be released and end this story?
