Coaching carousel 2025-26

I can definitely see Golding taking over as interim at OM. His defense has been pretty darn good over there. Golding just wasn't very good at coordinating Saban's defense. Not sure he ever truly believed in it. He's done quite well since getting back to 'his' defense at OM. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets the gig full time.
I assume in this context, “OM” means Old Milwaukee?

But will he? It’s still agbarn. But also the second team running this offense in this conference. UF used to kill everyone because they were ahead of the curve on the pass happy offense and the only one running it. Everyone caught up to it and now everyone does it. Teams ran the NASCAR offenses and were ahead of everyone because of the speed. Teams adjusted. Now everyone does it. The more familiar your opponent becomes with what you do, the less effective it is. UcheaT is still good, but without the perfect players in all the right places, they aren’t indefensible. I feel like this is what it is, a P5 coach trying to step on to the big stage. Ain’t many of those can handle the big stage and have the same successes they had on the small one.
All excellent points. In a way, I feel a bit of sympathy for Golesh. He's about to enter uncharted territory in his brief HC career. Not only is he the head guy at one of the premier SEC teams, but a desperate one that just finished with another losing season, 5 altogether with 3 different head coaches at the helm!! The expectations and pressure will be through the roof again with an impatient, rabid fan base that he will find out soon enough. He's getting paid very well for his service no doubt, but will his mental state be intact?? Time will tell.

Key would be about the best they could hope for honestly.

Campbell gets a lot out of less talented teams but ultimately still has seasons around 8-4 or 7-5

Brian Kelly is toxic biohazard. No one should touch that guy no matter how desperate.
Yeah but you can't judge the coach at Iowa State simlly by his win loss record. It's Iowa State. The idea is that it would scale up when you have the kind of money Ole Miss has. The fact that he consistently wins 8 games at Iowa State is pretty impressive. They're a historical dumpster fire. Imo he's more of a sure thing than Sumrall or Golesh.

Lane Kiffin is also toxic biohazard. I actually think Kelly and Ole Miss are a match made in heaven.

I don't think Key will leave Tech, not yet at least and certainly not for Ole Miss.

Key is a yellow jacket through and through and he has that program headed very much in the right direction.
