New name? … Fulu? … Hubo? … Hulufubo? … Fubohulu?

… gotta stop, I’m gettin’ dizzy.

😎
doesn't matter. it will be Disney owned. we'll 70% Disney owned. Fubo will still own 30%. Not really sure how that will work. I think Fubo will still be Fubo, but you will have access to Hulu stuff, Hulu original stuff and seasons of old shows.

I'm sticking with cable for now. I also have a streaming subscription to ESPN.

I really do enjoy saving a few bucks......don't get me wrong. But not actually sure I would be able to save enough money to offset any inconvenience doing otherwise.

As always....a Cost vs. Value thing for me.
you don't save any money. streaming is just as expensive as cable. The only advantage is suspending it during the off season which I guess does save money. I will have saved $400+ for suspending it for 5 months.

I still enjoy what cable brings and the ESPN monthly cost runs around $20, so maybe I could save $100?

The splits amongst the streaming channels are wide these days. I do have some friends who do one channel to exhaustion and move on, rotating through them as shows drops.

So now we are discussing the "NEW" ESPN APP subscription? That interest me more so than the aggregate subscription services. Other wise, I am listening to the radio broadcast old school style. LOL

I’ve used it for football & basketball seasons the past couple of years. The Sling weekend passes interests me. Could save quite a bit of money.

Pulled the trigger today.

Warning: If you've ever signed up for YTTV (and cancelled like me), you will need to change your email and start another account to get the intro price of $49 for 3 months.

Also, don't try to pay with a former credit card you've used or else it'll kick out your new subscriber status and try to charge you $82 to begin with.

Creating a channel for my wife and using her email, I got the intro rate.

I also went ahead and added the Sunday Ticket. Gonna be watching A LOT of college and NFL this year!

I got the Sunday Ticket and NFL Redzone again for this year.

I am afraid since the ESPN takeover of NFL Redzone, there will be commercials, etc...

If you have a ROKU tv, get used to clearing the cache. Hit the home button. then:
Hit Home button five times, up button once. reverse twice. fast forward twice.

This will cause it to seize up and hard reboot. You want this. Better than even unpluging the set and replugging in; also, it's quicker. Then select YouTubeTV or whatever.

Your streaming will not buffer or if it does, it will not be because you needed to clear your cache. Do this WAY before you are about to watch something important. At least 10-15 minutes before, if not more.

Thank me later.

Disney+ is one of the worst apps for this, but yeah this procedure is your friend.

I'm sticking with Xfinity for now. YouTube TV doesn't have several of the channels I like. And I don't watch that many to begin with. But I have been thinking about it. I like having Xfinity Stream on my TV. How much is YouTube TV, total including taxes and fees. And do you own or rent your wifi modem?

YouTube TV is just a streaming platform.

You have to have an internet connection, which is separate.

I have Sky Best fiber and bought my own NetGear Router.

I've used YoutubeTV since Hulu live raised their prices and haven't looked back. They added the ability to watch up to 4 games at a time within the last few years. I also use the ESPN app a lot for that now that SEC games are on ABC instead of CBS. I've tried other services like fubo, sling but nothing beats the interface and DVR. You can add all CFB football and never miss a game or just Alabama. It won't pickup ESPN+ games on first watch but will catch all replays.
That's what I do. I have it set to record every college football game, just in case something interesting happens and I can go back and watch it. Why not, since DVR space is unlimited.

ESPN has a new streaming service starting the 21st. I think its about $29 and includes all live espn channels and all ABC college football games. So you won't get as much non sec games as you would with youtube tv, but you'll get all the sec games for quite a bit less.
You also get access to all the ESPN+ content on this new streaming service.
Aren't they partnering with Fox for this?
Yes, the will offer a bundle that provides access to the new ESPN streaming service and Fox One, their new streaming service. The bundle will start in October. ESPN DTC and FOX One to Launch Combined Bundle Offer | The Walt Disney Company

Just FYI. Hulu and Fubo are merging at the end of this year or early 2026.

Yes and no. Hulu is now 100% owned by Disney after they recently bought out Comcast's remain share and that is not changing. The Hulu app will be phased out sometime in 2026 and all Hulu content will move to the Disney+ app.

They are spinning off only the Hulu+Live TV portion into this new venture with Fubo that will operate under the Fubo name. The percentages mentioned are correct. Fubo And Disney’s Hulu + Live TV Virtual MVPD Businesses To Combine - The Walt Disney Company

Our family has a collection of Roku and FireTV devices scattered around, but my main streaming device and by far the best one I've ever used is the Nvidia Shield Pro. Can't recommend it highly enough. I used to be deep into my own custom build HTPC, with IP cable tuner (HDHomerun), madvr for HDR rendering etc. Got fatigued from constantly chasing Windows updates and broken services as a result, and bit the bullet to switch to the Shield. Best decision I ever made. It just works. I still have a media server full of show episodes, ripped movies (many 4K), etc. and use Emby through the Shield for all of it. It's awesome.
