Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Wasn't Fluker ranked close to the #1 OT in the country his senior high school year? Wasn't Tyler Love just about the #1 OT prospect his senior year?

Just saying, a lot of high school #1 OT's don't pan out, and the NFL is loaded with OT's that were three star prospects in high school.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Cyrus fax that LOI to Bama. But who knows, maybe that new gigantic Center we just signed out of Ohio may turn out to be the best lineman for Bama since Anre Smith...it wouldn't surprise me, that's just how it often plays out.

And who could have ever predicted damn near the national player of the year BJ Scott would turn out to be a bust? ...it's just how it often plays out.

And yes, it did wreck my day when I heard Cyrus picked Auburn.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

It's not uncommon to make blunders when you're a young man, under pressure, and in the public eye. I think he just made a mistake, we should understand that, and I sincerely hope he signs with Bama. He'll be happiest there, even if he doesn't know it now.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

If you want the truth I really do think Saban has stopped recruiting Cyrus. I know this sounds crazy but I think after that stunt he pulled Saban might have moved on.
You are WAY wrong here. From Saban's presser:
Saban on OL recruiting: "We tried to get three guys who could play left tackle long-term and we missed on all three. Maybe."

That MAYBE is HUGE. He thinks there is still hope--obviously.:biggrin2:

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

In regards to the guy mentioning that he doesn't like the yankees playing for us, he needs to know the following were some great yanks for the Tide: Joe Namath (PA), Derrick Lassic (NY) and Mark Ingram (MI). Each of these was great. I sense Cyrus could also be great.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

One recruiting trip to Auburn, and Cyrus signs.........................wowwwww!!! That is amazing, that Tiger coach is the king of one call closes.

What is it...

-Auburn sight seller that shows all the top Bama recruits that never saw the field in their careers?
-an envelope full of money?
-Saban scares some of these kids, because he is all business and demands a lot?
-The entertainment is amazing in Auburn for recruiting trips?

All the above?

What the hell is it?

All I know is Chzick quickly pulled even to Saban in his ability to close the big names frequently.

Does ESPN run that same pre-season documentary with Auburn this year, that they did with Bama in 2010 (since they won the chamionship?)....if so, that will be every interesting

That person is showing their true ignorance when it comes Alabama football history. Just another idiot spouting off on thinigs he knows nothing about......

Call me crazy, but is seems that @ least here in the DFW area, Auburn is not getting near as much fanfare and national attention that Bama received last year. I'd be shocked if ESPN did a special on them this year.

I don't know but it's very wierd. Cyrus's mom and dad did not even go on the visit.....did not seem serious to me.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

The kid just wants to have a good time!!!!

Let him go to Auburn, he's not going to have agood time with Saban on him 24 x 7 to be a better player!

Did you guys ever see that video of Cam and his friends sitting on the couch together with their hands down their pants, watching the live video sex girl? It was posted in the Cam Scam section of tidefans.com, if you have the time to find it (not worth watching however).

Auburn does it a different way right now, not discipline the Saban way, it's more like the cocky way of the 80's LA LAkers, work hard party hard...start the game slowly but the ability to come on in the fourth quater like showtime used to.

Well, that style works for awhile, but sometimes those ways catch-up to you.....hate to say it, but it's his fault so I will, like Magic and his HIV....his ways eventually caught-up to him

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Yeah, I agree, "advice". I think it would be in CK's best interest to listen to his parents. But at 17 years old, with, two full paid scholarships from two of the best football teams in the SEC sitting at your feet. Both of which if he bust his butt at either of these schools will provide him with an opportunity to have a pro career. I think this is a decision (that with the ADVICE of his parents) he can make. He's not a toddler. He doesn't have to be spoon fed on every decision. Of course this is an important decision but one I think he's old enough to make.
I completely agree with you I believe he is capable of making his own decision with good advice behind him. I remember being 17/18 yrs old i did not want my parents making my decisions for me however, i did listen to their advice and thinking on it now they were right every time. Listen to youre parents CK you wont be sorry you did! RTR

Why do you think he wants to go to Auburn? Serious question.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

The kid just sat on national tv and said i wanna go to Auburn university.

OK, I'll pose the question again. Why do YOU think he wants to play @ Auburn? Besides the lure of starting, which he could very well do @ Bama, Why do YOU think he wants to go their?

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I understand what you are saying but if true, thats pretty selfish of the parents. What do the parents expect if you have 2 stud athletes as offspring? They are not clones and entitled to their own opinions and wants. I hope we get him, but only if he wants to be here. Otherwise he could turn into another underachieving athlete taking up a scholly we could use for another stud OT that wants to be in T-Town.

I hope Bama gets him but im thinking that he wants to go to the Barn but the parents are saying no cause the brothers being at two different universitys Makes it really hard on the parents.

If I were truly seriously considering a school, I would want my parents there and I would talk it over w/them before I make a HUGE announcement on TV. He cannot take another official, he parents have stated that they want him @ Bama. He loves CNS and what Bama has to offer. So why is it that Auburn is so appealing to him all of the sudden? I can understand Florence, and even Calloway to a point, but this situation w/Cyrus is strange man.
