A couple of things here.

1) What in the world is REC? (Sorry to show my lack of hipness, but I don't know what it is).

2) I've only listened to Finebaum ONE TIME in my entire life. It was April 2001. Guess who was on? Danny Sheridan. And guess what he said? The NCAA has only circumstantial evidence against Alabama and we'd get a slap on the wrist.

So pardon me for not exactly worshipping at the altar of His Royal Greenbacks.

REC is the Red Elephant Club, a Bama group.

The thing that worries me about getting the bagman is what is his incentive to talk to them. He is most likely a sleeze to begin with, and all that would happen by him talking is every Barner in the world would be hunting him down to kill him. Unless they can get some sort of legal trouble against him through taxes I see no reason why he would cooperate with the investigation. Think of what Updyke did to the trees over us losing a game and imagine what some of the people on Finebaum would do to someone who confessed causing them to lose a Heisman and national championship.

He could move to that deserted island with Casey Anthony and Elvis.

So he's not 100%, so what?

He's been around for about 30 years and has a great reputation. When was the last time Vegas called you for advice in setting a line?

haha. I took a peek at ITAT and there is a long thread about this ....... because there's nothing to it. :rolleye2:

Nothing happened because .... wait for it ...... the NCAA has already cleared *U.

And, if it is true the bag man is .... wait for it ...... from the REC.

Bless their hearts.
To paraphrase Jack Nicholson, the way to determine how an Auburn fan thinks is to start with an Alabama fan and then subtract logic and accountability.

Which would be relevant if we were taking or leaving the points in LSU vs Oregon. That's not what this is.

I'm not overly excited about this in terms of "oooh, it's gonna happen big and it's gonna happen soon!" Instead, I find the cockles of my heart warmed that we've had two "in-the-know" peeps (Sheridan and that NCAA lady whose name escapes me) recently confirm, in a nationally disseminated way, that the NCAA Auburn investigation does continue.

You and I have known it for nearly a year, while the barners persist in denying it. It's so nice to see them collectively slapped. Just makes me smile. :)

Hey neighbor, in Danny's defense that was before anyone including him knew they would go so far as to use secret witnesses and whatever means necessary to prove their case against us. He was right about the evidence.

The thing that sticks out in my mind is the "bag man" reference. In the Means case they accused an individual of being th bag man and no matter how much he denied it they proceeded once they were convinced. So either they have changed their ways or they will go forward regardless of whether the "bag man" fesses up. As much as I dislike abarn I want to see the ncaa have to build a real case against them with real evidence, not just their belief of what happened.

AU fans have already picked up a viewpoint on it. They want to know why/how a Vegas man has an insider with the NCAA.

I was listening to finebaum today for a few minutes and a caller asked him if he were a odds maker in vegas what are the odds that the barn will get hit because of the cam deal. Danny said less around 50 percent in au favor. I didn't understand what he was saying that au got a decent chance not getting hit or getting hit. Fifty percent is not good odds in my book for something like this at all.
