Darby is without question a great running back,
he has proven it time and again, but for what ever
reason he doesen't seem to be himself , so my question
is do you keep giving him the ball and try to break shaun's
record, or do you go with a guy like JJ who is hot right now
and win games.

We lost today?

I dont think JJ is "hot". I think he is "good". My opinion is if the coaches think KB is not injured and that we have a better chance to win with him in the game than JJ, they know better than i.

Having said that, i think he is definitely playing hurt.

Re: DARBY

I am not trying to be negitive toward the coaching staff
or KD , I'm just saying that coaches all the time go with who
has the hot hand when they have more than one back. But let
me say this, whoever they choose to go with I will support them
and trust that they know best. Win or lose ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

This is... uhh... way off topic. But I'm curious, so I'll give it a shot. Why do you hit enter after every 10 or so words? It makes your posts appear as though they are meant as a Haiku. It just confuses me. Yes, I'm easily confused.

Re: DARBY

You have to give credit to Darby today, when we needed a big run at the end of the game, he really came through. I was watching him run today and it almost looks like he is lacking some leg strength. On a couple of cuts, his legs seemed to wobble instead of making the strong clean cuts I've come to expect from him.

Im very concerned that he is injured and maybe is trying to hide it! :BigA:

Re: DARBY

Darby wasn't 100% healthy today, either.

I love Darby and I'm ready for him to break loose....but, if he isn't 100% why does he keep getting the call. He did look better today, but that's relative after last week. I'll leave the substitution decisions to the staff but I am very anxious to see Upchurch and Grant get at least 1 carry!!

Re: DARBY

It seems that whenever Johns fumbles he doesn't see the field again. Darby is an experienced back who hasn't fumbled, so it seems they leave him in there to run out the game. I do agree though, I would love to see Upchurch get a chance. I'm not saying he should be getting a ton of carries but let him see what it is like out there.

Johns fumbled today and the ball went to Vandy. JJ was in on the next offensive play, IIRC. ... And Darby has fumbled. Not this year, but he has fumbled.

Re: DARBY

I made a statement at the end of last year that in a round-a-bout way I thought KD wasn't the same as he had been in the past. I thought he seemed to be trying to juke around too much rather than just hit the hole. This was of course when the O-line was having issues after the miss. st. game last year. He could be hurt or maybe he has some kind of carry over from last season. He can still be a home run hitter, he has just looked off his game IMO.

But as with others, I trust the coaching staff.

Re: DARBY

I seem to hear this familiar pattern:

"Darby has the ball..."

"Goes up the middle..."

"Great defensive play by (place opponent's name here)"

"Lose of a yard for Bama"

Re: DARBY

I believe we should bench Darby. There is this new freshmen that just walked onto the team and he can flat out run the football.

He is built better than Darby and his dad played for the Steelers.
:cool2:

(just kidding) :)

Darby will come around. I think he is still suffering from a hip pointer. He had a pretty good run today against Vandy. I trust he will come around.

Re: DARBY

it just seems to me he's lost a lot of confidence running the ball right now. there was a few runs today that looked like the old darby (his last carry i think) but he looks like he doesn't have the strength to break tackles like last year, find the right hole, and a lot of times he's trying to make too many moves. i hope it's from the injury because this kid is too good to waste on lost confidence.

Re: DARBY

Has it escaped observation that the plays being called for Johns and Darby are different? As example, how many times was Johns asked to run between the tackles yesterday? Versus Darby's calls?
