I like the Summit. There are several places to eat and a movie theater. It's at the top of the hill in the NE corner of the Hwy 280 / I-459 intersection.

My wife and I used to go to J. Alexander's at the Galleria but the last time we went a couple of years ago it had really gone downhill. Outback is better.

There was an Italian place on Hwy 280 in Inverness that we really liked but I can't remember the name of it.

For a laid back date I would say the Logans over near the Galleria. It can be a little loud but i thinks its better than Outback. For more upscale Ruths Chris. I hear (and read) Shulas is good but have yet to go there.

Leonardo's that was mentioned up the board is good.

I think the Italian place on 280 that was mentioned is probably Petrochelli's. I go there a good bit. It's inexpenisve for the food you get and good. The view off the mtn back towards the Summit is nice too. It's a western facing ridge so you get pretty good sunsets.

Great city.

I lived in Inverness.

Baby Does is gone I think. I took a few dated there and the food and view were great. Inverness may look unrecognizable to you today. That whole area has changed as it has grown.

That's about what I figured.

The Birmingham I left was a cool place. I'm sure it's changed so much that I wouldn't recognize it.

I miss Johnny Ray's barbeque over on Green Springs.

I miss the Shades Valley YMCA.....a lot of professional folks used to go there after work.

I miss living close to SEC/Crimson Tide football. Though, when I lived there, it was during the Curry era.

Location: Minnehaha, MS ----- Isn't Mississippi in SEC Country? ;)
It used to be.

But Minnehaha's 8-man team could give Monkeytown's finest a run for their money.

Unless'n the waterboy was sick.
