Re: Clay Travis Says We Are In Potential Trouble

That's true...he had Tom's Fashions and later Tom's Big & Tall in McFarland Mall..When that entire mall starting folding, everything happened just as you described. He moved his operations to University Mall (which itself is only hanging on by a thread for relevance outside of the holiday season) and set up shop in the old S&K Menswear store.
It also on par with quality of an S&K type store, where they do bogo suits. Clay specifically wondered how TR can have two suites today on JOX. Clay must believe that a marketing campaign of buy one get one free is an ncaa violation.

The shirt shop would be high end, a store where there are way to many zeros at the end of the price than there should be.

And yet another poster/post that smells a bit. My barnyard radar is going off.....
RollTide2U,

I am NO Barner lurking. I have been around a few years. Even DiamondDust will tell you that I've been around for awhile.

I just saw the segment on CSS "SportsNite" and got concerned.

I don't listen to Finebaum and I don't live in Alabama, so this is a concerned TideMan/TideFan in TX!

My Alabama Crimson Tide news source is TideFans.com.

I do live and die with the Crimson Tide!

When TIDE-HSV tells me I don't need to worry, only then will I feel much better!

Yup. And you can get two executive suits at Joseph A. Bank in midtown. That'll cost you though. First suit...177 2nd suit 77.00. This is such crap and I can't believe it is blowing up like this. Kickoff is just around the corner. Let's bury this dead horse and get back to debating who is the better dual-threat QB that will lead the Tide next year ;).

All I can say is that people very close to the very top at UA tell me that there's nothing there. What seems to be there is a web wannabe who doesn't care how thoroughly he gets smeared with cow manure, as long as his site gets off to a start. And his interpretation of the NCAA bylaw is whacky. PF was correct in dismissing it. When I hear there is a real worry, I will post it honestly...

Re: Clay Travis Says We Are In Potential Trouble

Thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry I didn't find this website sooner. NCAA games have never featured current players on the cover, why would they start now.
people can make their own custom covers. It's not a big deal.

Yes. As a matter of fact I was messing with some Barner's ( who I know personally) on FB today. During the banter, one wrote this

:[QUOTELori Peel Peterson Oh, and Ben and I were livid they put Bama on cover of Football 12 game so he made his own AUBURN cover as it should have been!][/QUOTE]

Re: Clay Travis Says We Are In Potential Trouble

WSFA News in Montgomery said tonight the University sent the C&D letter asking the store to stop selling and using the memorabilia for promotion. When was anything sold?

Also, Travis is making himself sound ignorant by acting like Julio or Trent can't have more than one suit.

This is the website for rapper T-Will (Travis Williams): LINK

According to T-Will's bio on that website, he is a former Auburn player and Auburn Graduate Assistant who helped coach LB's: LINK

Quote:
T-Will is currently still grinding to make his music career kick off. He has created nearly 100 songs in the past two years, including the new hit anthem for the Auburn football team, “Tiger Walk.” He is the current defensive graduate coach at Auburn University and pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education.

These are lyrics in the first verse of "Tiger Walk", taken from this page on T-Will's website: LINK

Quote:
I love Auburn like my name was Pat Dye
From Chris Todd to Darvin Adams he’s mossing
Touch Down Auburn now the Fans Tiger Walking

"Tiger Walk" will cost you $.99 to download on iTunes: LINK

Or you can purchase his entire album, "Undefeated", which includes "Tiger Walk" and sixteen other songs for $9.99: LINK

According to that page, the album was released by "Blitz Squad Entertainment" on November 21, 2010.

However, as you can see from this music video, which was posted by MAJORLEAGUEbiz on Youtube and which also appears on T-Will's website, the song "Tiger Walk" has been around since at least December 18, 2009 and even uses footage of players: LINK

Major League Entertainment was his previous record label and this is his Youtube channel for that venture: LINK

I haven't reviewed the other songs on the "Undefeated" album and don't know what other players names were used in other songs.

Many of them are on Youtube, posted by MAJORLEAGUEbiz, and you can check them out for yourself. I don't know how many players are used in those videos.

Oh. And here he is at an official Auburn pep rally prior to the 2010 LSU game performing "Tiger Walk" while being backed up by the marching band and dancing with Aubie: LINK

And here is one posted by AuburnAthletics for the 2010 season: LINK

If you're legit, then ok. But when someone starts talking about vacating the 2009 Championship season and things of that nature, it looks suspicious. That's all.

That guy is a total jerk bamahippie. Everything he posts is over the top negative and uneccesary. He's obviously connected to Travis and Sports By Brooks.
Yeah, that's the ticket. I'm over the top because I don't like Finebaum. I thought my ears were burning. We're namecalling now? I'm pretty sure that's a no no on this board, but you may not have been here long enough to figure that out. :rolleye2:

I don't think he's connected to anyone. He'll tell you real quick, he's been here a long time if you have a relatively low post count. I've had a couple of "back and forths" with him on other threads. I think he's just really stubborn...
I'll only mention that I've been here a long time when I'm accused of a) sounding like someone on 247, b) being connected to Travis and Sports By Brooks, or c) being a barner.

Unlike some of our less educated posters, I don't believe everything is all sunshine and puppies with our program all the time, and I'm not afraid to post my concerns when there are concerns. Right now we know that UA compliance has said there's nothing here--and I believe them. I don't trust the NCAA to refrain from turning it into something, and that's something that no insider on this board can comment on. That's the source of the worry. And he doesn't have a low post count--he's said an awful lot in 9 months.

If you think I'm being stubborn, you haven't read my posts on the topic. I said that I felt much better about the situation due to some things that were stated.

Did you do the Photoshopping or did one of your friends who is a Barner graphic arts major do it? Hmmm...you've used an easy moniker, you joined in April and you have 3 posts. I smell the cows...
Really? Who is bringing up post count? Surely we're not going to go into post counts to attack someone's credibility. I mean, if I can't use mine to defend the fact that I'm not a Travis/Brooks/247 'reporter' and all... ;)

And yet another poster/post that smells a bit. My barnyard radar is going off.....
Tsk tsk.

That's not the whole story. The athlete is under an obligation to exercise due diligence in seeing that it ceases, when he becomes aware (or the school can be proactive on his part). Remember my example of a mall signing. All those signing would be ineligible under Travis' interpretation. In fact, there just wouldn't be any mall signings. Many of those items are autographed to be sold and everyone knows it...
I know...it's ludicrous if that were the interpretation. I was charged two years ago with obtaining a football signed by all of the players for a raffle at the high school here, due to a lower level connection I had with the Athletic Department that is no longer there. I went through them and still got a call back from the AD saying that they could not get us a football signed by the players to use in a raffle because it would be an NCAA violation. I thought that was ludicrous then...but again, this is the NCAA we're talking about. I feel even better that the higher ups think there's nothing to it at this point (versus compliance when the issue first came up) because they are at least a good indicator of the NCAA mood.

The boogers are Aubsessed! -lol Every topic on the first page of ITAT besides the stickys is about this.

As far as the AJ vs. Trent case is concerned, AJ sold an autographed jersey. There's no proof showing Trent has sold or receiving anything in return for an autograph. Everything else is just typical. This issue is basically *ubarn's Operation Red Dog of 2011.

BTW, if you live in *ubarn and just so happen to pass by any storefront windows containing autographed memorabilia, or anything related to the promotion of current players, don't be scared to take a few pics and leak them online. :)

Are you kidding? They pay more attention to that than a 13 year old boy watching a sex ed video.

See? In that case, you made them aware that it was going to be raffled (sold). In a mall signing, everyone knows it, but it's not made obvious. However, who can believe that all of the AU players with jerseys up for sale in eBay are totally unaware that that they're being sold?

Hamilton, you know good and well when there's someone on here with very few posts and they joined only recently, and they start talking about ridiculous things like wondering if Alabama will be vacating the 2009 National Championship due to something Clay Travis said, IT LOOKS SUSPICIOUS.

The only reason I brought up you talking about how long someone has been here is that your first post to me said something to the effect that I hadn't been around here very long, therefore I didn't know what I was talking about. That thread was NOT in the football forum, it was in the "Otherboards" forum. You get something in your head and you won't let it go no matter how much someone shows you that you're wrong. THAT'S what I was talking about and you know it.

If you're coming to a more rational position on this issue, then good. And I DID take up for you. I said you didn't have some sort of ties to Travis, etc., but that you're simply stubborn. AND YOU ARE.

That's the last word I have to say on it and I'll ignore any witty retort you may come back at me with.
