I hate incompetence. I dropped my car off to get new tires. I did not want to wait around in their waiting area for 2 hours so I biked home to wait. I dropped it off 5 hours ago. They are "just finishing up". Why the hell did it take over 5 hours to change 4 tires?

... because they knew you wanted to watch the whole game BEFORE you picked up the car??? :D

Did they have to make the tires from scratch? or because I dropped it off they thought screw him, he can wait. What was the point in making an actual appointment? I had things I needed to do today that now I cannot do them.

... it usually only takes 1 hour per tire. Not sure what they did with that other hour ;)

On a serious note, I do find that when I drop off my auto, for whatever service, they seem to push it aside for the people who are waiting. So ... I usually bite the bullet and sit in the waiting room.

I had an uncle that owned a tire shop. I never ever waited for 5-6 hours. They pushed me aside for sure.

I always hang around when I get new tires. Doesn't take long - maybe 1/2 hour tops.

Hill Brothers. On it's third owner now. Knew Mr. Hill and went to school with his son, who took over the business. Quick story - he (the son) visited me in my dorm room as a sophomore and I offered him an open face PB sandwich - and he refused saying it made his face break out. This was in '73-'74.

Took my Volvo twice in the last week for work which took about 3 hours each time and decided to spend the time walking around the area while I waited.

First was tinting the windows and last Friday it was replacing the headliner.

Really enjoyed the walkabout. Even if it was spent just sitting on a sea wall enjoying the view......

I've learned if there is an option to wait at the store for the service to be done, whether it be at a tire shop, pharmacy, etc., I just bite the bullet and wait there. With customer services being what it is now days at most places, not staying and having that social pressure of you being there is just a huge invitation to put you on the back burner and trust me, that is exactly what most people will do.

People who stick their nose in where it don't belong.

On the way back from doing some work today a Gopher Tortoise was crossing the road up ahead. He was a juvenile maybe 7" in diameter. Small enough to be missed by some idiot driver on their smart phone.

So I stop my truck back far enough not to distract the little fellow. He's continuing across the road OK, but then stops about 4' from the other side.

I had already exited my truck to motion to the driver behind me to hold fast, as well as look out for oncoming vehicles.

It looked like the little guy was going to hunker down for a bit so I decided to grab him and walk him way onto the property he was heading for. I motioned for the vehicle behind me to go around as I picked him up and the guy in the truck stopped rolled his window down and remarked "It's illegal to touch them!"

Freaking clown......totally oblivious to the big picture. Just living in his little world to pass judgement on others. It's a good law and I'm glad we have it but what good does it do when some knucklehead on their phone runs one over. And I've seen it happen here. Turtles, squirrels, racoons, possums, birds, cats, dogs, snakes, you name it......

Speaking of dogs, I had a lunch meeting at a restaurant today where the tables weren't very far from each other. While we were eating a party of five is seated next to us and a woman with a big dog on a leash sits down at the table, and there weren't any visible signs of whether this dog was a service dog or just a pet. I quickly looked at the situation trying to find ANYTHING, behavior by the person, something on the dog or the person, to check the box that this was a service dog. Nothing checked the box. I am a dog person and have always had dogs. But I do not like eating in a restaurant with a dog that is close to me, service dog or not. The dog wasn't a problem just very in my personal space and the guy sitting next to me. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be "THAT GUY", but if the dog is a service dog, it would at least make me feel better if there were some outward indication that the dog is there because of a disability in the person and not "just because".

A few of my Pet Peeves :

1. People who talk too loud at restaurants, etc. I can hear their entire conversation several tables away.
2. Strong perfume/cologne that someone is wearing... I can smell it 14 feet away...lol
3. People being late... especially without calling/texting to tell me... especially when it is a habit with them.
4. The way people drive in this area of metro-Atlanta.... it is just amazing to me how many bad drivers are on the road.
5. My last pet peeve is that I usually find it annoying to watch football games with the sound on, unless it is BAMA. Bama is the only team I watch with the sound on. It is annoying to listen to the announcers, the comments, the refs, the whistles, etc. If there is a major review or major incident, I will turn on the sound, but other than that, I watch games on mute except for Bama games.RTR!

I had one a few minutes ago. I called to inform a parent that I was suspending her son for an altercation in the cafeteria. Not only was I present but I also went back and watched the video of the incident. I swear, mom says, "my child would not do that, we go to church."

And let me guess, his daddy's the pastor? Which would make sense because we all know the preacher's kids are the worst! LOL! LOL! LOL!

Product reviews.......that are absolutely worthless.......like this one I just read, regarding a paint applicator I'm considering:

This seems like a quality made paint-sprayer out of the box. All the little extras that come with it are handy. One confusing thing about it is that this is supposed to be a sprayer for a lot of different types of paint however the manual under NOTE mentions to make sure the paint is not too thick?!I’m not sure if this is normal as I have not used a paint sprayer before so I guess I’ll see how it performs and update my review if need be. I’m meaning to use it for a deck once weather here gets better.
The guy HASN'T EVEN USED IT.......yet feels it necessary to post a review.

Edit:

LOL....and another.......

This unit has a nice heft to it to feel like it can do the job yet it is not too heavy like other units. I love the fact that is comes with an EXTRA BATTERY because you KNOW someone is going to forget to fully charge up the battery and in the middle of a job what now?? Well….in this case you just grab the second battery (that you had the foresight to charge up also) and pop it on. I will update this review after I use this to paint my large metal patio table. So far I would recommend this item and this brand.
