Guess posting an unlinked unsourced rumor that an API player is leaving means we are scared of himDon't have any links or anything concrete, just hearing murmurs around facebook and twitter. Does anyone have any other info on this one? I know if he left, they would be hurting at RB, he's the only stud they have back there.
fyp.Right now, the barn has the look and feel of a program that's imploding - not shocking since they hired a 5-19 coach who (regardless of the means used) bought lightning in a bottle last year.
I understand what you are saying kind of, but Dyer has put up back to back 1k yard rushing seasons averaging over 5 ypc. He has been very productive this year and last year. He is a very good back that is very hard to bring down and has deceptive speed. When Malzahn's offense is working at its best like last year it is a totally run heavy offense so I think it could definitely feature a back. One of the problems is their D sucks so bad that they either "have" to or choose to abandon the run game.Mosely, Greene and Cooper are seniors; I'm pretty sure at least 2 of those 3 started some of the year, and they all 3 might have, but I don't follow barn football so I don't know for sure. If they all 3 started, then the barn has 2 - 3 returning starters with decent experience. Those are highly regarded players, to be sure, but under the circus master run-blocking ain't what they do.
Any rb who wants to play for GM is an idiot, IMO, because he ain't ever gonna be what he could be at any school that runs a real offense. JMO
As you know, I recently raised the possibility of Mike Dyer not being at Auburn next fall. I didn't say he was gone. I didn't say he was almost gone. I said I wouldn't be "shocked" to see him leave. I stand by that statement.
Now then ...
It makes me laugh to see people on other message boards criticize me for starting rumors when, really, I did nothing of the sort. Someone asked me a question about who will be Auburn's leading rusher in 2012. I said Yeldon. Now I'm a rumor-monger.
These same people, many of them, feast on idle speculation damn near 365 days a year.
Yet when it suits them, they'll identify something as a rumor and denounce it.
A rumor is speculation about something that doesn't please you.
My mother told me I shoulda been a clinical psychologist.
FIFY.It's all from the Barn standard recruiting procedure, pay whatever to get the kid.
I think they started the rumor to make TJ Yeldon believe he has the starting job next year. Both newspapers (bhm, mont) trying to recruit top instate players. So Jay G Tate says that TJ Yeldon will be the leading rusher in 2012, and Aubs turn that into Dyer is leaving?
As Coach Bryant would say " BINGO"I think they started the rumor to make TJ Yeldon believe he has the starting job next year. Both newspapers (bhm, mont) trying to recruit top instate players.
Makes a lot more sense.I think they started the rumor to make TJ Yeldon believe he has the starting job next year. Both newspapers (bhm, mont) trying to recruit top instate players.
Maybe we need a Who Cares? Forum and we could move it thereCan this thread be moved to the Auburn scam board? Just not sure it belongs front and center on the football board.
Another Twitter account immediately refuted this. Said Dyer is meeting with Chizik and plans to stay at Auburn. Not sure the validity of the account, though. It looks like Dyer is headed to Arkansas State.
