I saw Antoine McClain at a Quarterback Club Meeting in Anniston last night. Does this eliminate him from our want list?

It'll be a real shame if there isn't a place for McClain in this class. I just hope we don't have to watch a kid with that much talent and who is so ready to be a part of our program head elsewhere.

Can anyone name another top 100 player who had to wait to commit to the Tide? I can't remember one but I'm pretty young.

I have heard McClain would probably be a non-qualifier and it seems Saban doesn't want to mess with those with grade problems.

I also watched McClain play agasint Chelsea HS. I'm not sure if he was having a bad game or what, but I was excited about seeing him play, and he did nothing but dissapoint. He was getting whipped on line by much smaller D-lineman, and he just seemed very slow on the field. Hopefully he was just having a bad night?

Welcome Mr. Jones, you have made a wise decision and we thank you for it. You have reopened the pipeline to Memphis.
I'm not sure but i think you just cost us 5 scholarships in next year's class.;)
All joking aside, this kid is a well spoken young man that seems to have his head on straight. If my son gave an interview like the one that is posted on scout.com I would be one proud papa, welcome Mr. Jones.

Scout.com ranks Jones, whose father, Rex, played basketball at Alabama in the early 1980s, the No. 15 offensive tackle prospect nationally and the No. 45 overall prospect in the Southeast.
I remember his dad, Rex. This is a great one to have.:BigA:

With today being my birthday, Mr. Jones obviously waited until today to announce and give me a present this morning.;) Welcome aboard Barrett and lets hope we have another Jones jumping on board this year.

Oh Yeah! Even though most of us thought we seen this one coming. An offensive lineman as talented as Jones you can not take for granted. It is nice for him to finally pull the trigger and Roll with the Tide. :biggrin2:

Tide lands top player in Tennessee
Barrett Jones, Scout.com four-star offensive tackle from Cordova-Evangelical Christian, (Tenn.), has announced his college decision through releasing an official statement with Scout.com. Jones' father, Rex Jones, played basketball for the Tide.

"After much prayer and visits to a number of schools, I have decided to choose the University of Alabama to continue my education and my football career. Coach [Nick] Saban said he was extremely happy about my decision. He told me that I am an important part of this class because I have the ability, character, and leadership to help build a great team. I am determined to do everything possible to live up to his expectations.”

McClain was dropped from the Rivals Top 100 when they revised their list a few weeks ago. :)
