The Log Cabin Democrat reports Neal was 31 of 47 for 383 yards and 5 TD passes last night against Morrilton. He threw some beautiful 30 yards+ fades to my nephew, Scott Cavin, and Seth Peters, to the corner of the end zone, putting them up where only the receiver could make the grabs. Greenbrier won the game 39-34, and now stands 6-0 on the season.

Morrilton has a beast of a WR in 6' 7", 220 lb., Warren "Fe Fi Fo Fum" Leaphart. Leaphart was said to have had a great camp this summer at Ole Miss.

If my counting is correct Neal has thrown 25 TD passes and near 2000 yards in 6 games this season. He has only played a full game twice. In the other 4 games, he has not seen action in the second half. In two of those games, he played only 9 minutes and 16 minutes, throwing 5 TD passes in 5 possessions in both of those games.

Greenbrier Coach, Randy Tribble, stated last week that he believes Vanderbilt is very near offering Burcham a scholarship. While the rest of the SEC schools seem slow to process, Coach Franklin appears most ready to land Burcham. The first SEC school to offer will probably have the upper hand with Neal. Burcham visited Vanderbilt a few weeks ago, and he likes what Vandy has to offer.

I have a good friend, Dr. Jim Thompson, who came up and shot some great photography of the Greenbrier vs. Morrilton game. Jim owns arsportstar.proboards.com. He also specializes in sports photography.

Thanks Jim!

Morrilton's 6' 7" 225 lb., senior wide receiver, Warren Leaphart. Warren is likely SEC bound. he was reported to have had a stellar camp at Ole Miss last summer.
Warren is a beast.

What position does he want to play? If he can block and add weight, he'd be a great TE.

Greenbrier senior wide receiver, #3 Seth Peters, goes up to grab a 35 yard fade pass to the end zone for a TD. Neal Burcham hit four similar fades for 30 yards plus forTD's in the game. Peters is near the top of the Arkansas high school ranks in catches per game. Burcham rolled right and threw back cross-field to the left for the TD.

The town of Greenbrier has an official population of 3000, though the school district has 3400 students. At the games, the attendance is always about 5000. As seen, the stands are always packed from goal line to goal line to cheer on Burcham and company

Sorry i didn't respond quicker. I just now noticed your question.

Warren currently plays wide receiver, but indeed he is best suited to play tight end in college. last season, Warren played at 6' 3" and 187 lbs. He sprang up like many kids do between their junior and senior years, growing 4 inches and adding appx 33 lbs.

After seeing him play, I'm ready to say Warren Leaphart is the real deal, and a good kid to boot from what I'm told. Me and Dr. Thomson (photos) are going to watch him play again, at Morrilton's homecoming, this Friday night.

Last night against Siloam Springs, Neal Burcham went 34 of 46 for 533 yards with 8 touchdown passes. Honest official stats per the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Neal also rushed for another TD.

Greenbrier scored nine TD's total in their 62-35 win over Siloam Springs, and Neal was responsible for all of them. Greenbrier is now 7-0 on the season. It was Burcham's best night of his high school career. Burcham has eclipsed 500 yards passing in two of his last three games. He now has thrown for 32 touchdowns in 7 games this season.

Burcham is about to become only the 7th player in Arkansas high school history to throw for over 10,000 yards in his high school career. Had he played more than a half in about 12 of his games (less than a half in some), he would likely become the state's all-time passing leader in yardage and TD passes, and still may anyway.

You didn't happen to call "Hey Coach!" on Thursday did you?
I hope Coach Saban is paying attention.

Just found out that Neal's 8 TD passes last night tied the Arkansas state record for TD passes in a game.

Burcham just continues to get better. And he was already better than real good. His accuracy is off the charts, whether it be throwing long or threading the needles.

Obviously CNS is paying attention since he has already expressed an interest in Burcham prior to the Elite 11. That was prior to Alec Morris commiting to Bama. I just don't think Bama will have room for Burcham in this class. There are only six spots or so left and a whole lot of very talented prospects at other positions of need to fit in those slots. I think Bama is done at QB unless something changes with commit Alec Morris, and I don't see that happening. I wish Burcham the best.
