Elite (to do with Bama tradition)

Earlier this afternoon, as I was at work daydreaming about September 1st, I started thinking... What a TREMENDOUS honor it is to be able to call myself apart of the Crimson Tide tradition. I found myself overwhelmed with excitement, and yet completely humbled by the idea of it all. And then I remembered back to a couple of summers ago, when my father and I drove up to New York City to watch the Yankees play (gotta love winners). The bellhop at the hotel that we were staying at asked us where we were from. I responded with a quick "Alabama"... and the gentleman smiled and said "Well... Roll Tide!" ... and my father and I could not help but to grin from ear to ear.

Thinking about that made me realize exactly how awesome it is to be a part of something that we can be so proud of. Now, I know very well that the gentleman with the horrible yankee accent was not an Alabama football fan... but thats not the point. The point is, that he didn't say "Go Blazers" or "How bout them Trojans" when I said "Alabama" ... and he DIDN'T say "War Eagle" ... He said "Roll Tide."

We are apart of the Alabama Crimson Tide football family... Whether you are from California, Alaska, or somewhere in the jungles of Africa, if you are a Tide fan, you are apart of an elite group of people... a family, that has one thing in common: We bleed Crimson and White... and if THAT isn't enough to give you chill bumps when you think about it... then there is something missing.

All of that being said... I CANNOT wait until September 1st when we kick off what is surely going to be a great season for Alabama Football... ROLL TIDE ROLL!!

We are apart of the Alabama Crimson Tide football family... Whether you are from California, Alaska, or somewhere in the jungles of Africa, if you are a Tide fan, you are apart of an elite group of people... a family, that has one thing in common: We bleed Crimson and White... and if THAT isn't enough to give you chill bumps when you think about it... then there is something missing.

I always get chills when I hear a "Roll Tide" from out of nowhere, even if it's here in Tuscaloosa, or if it's anything that is talking about Alabama in general. Heck, I get chills just flying back to Alabama, let alone getting back into Tuscaloosa.

You know, I was down in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, in January and I was gonna be heading back here to Columbia, Mo. in a couple of days and I heard " Roll Tide" from a gentleman who was passing by. Charlie was from Alabama and immediately spoke when seeing another Bama fan. Bama brings instant recognition in the spots fan world. If you asked most people where I work at what my name is they probably couldn't tell you but if you ask them " Where's Bama at ? " they'll take you right to me.

My wife will never understand why when I see someone from Bama or they see me we speak, even if it's just to say Roll Tide to each other. It's something you just can't fathom if you're outside the program. It really is special to be in the Crimson Tide Family.

I use a radio on my train and when I come into our terminal and speak to the yardmasters people know its me and I get several Roll Tides...Also get a bunch of Wareagle, go vols, Go big Blue, Go Cards.

I'm biding my time we have 10 & under soccer tournaments coming up. We are in the finals this weekend and in July we play in the Bluegrass State games. Team is undefeated in the last two years, so this will help pass the time until September.

Up here in puke orange hell, I make a habit of waving at people with BAMA front plates on their vehicles, and they all wave back. Also, the guys at one of the lumber yards I frequent always give me a shout out when I pull in. You can't miss my truck, and you definitely can't mistake it for anything but a BAMA truck.

I live in San Diego and go to the gym almost every day. I mostly wear "BAMA" shirts- crimson, white, or gray. Anyway, the guys at the gym only know me as BAMA. You should have seen them the Monday after A-Day. Direct quote-"92,000, eh?" I said yep! A couple said "you guys must be sick. 92,000 for a spring game." I said you're wrong- It was actually more like 105,000 with the folks that did not get in because of the fire marshall closing the gates. As far as being sick I said hell yes I am obsessed with BAMA football. Rarely have I felt prouder! ROLL TIDE
