Florida hires Louisiana's Billy Napier as new Head Football Coach (11/28/2021)

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

He's got Miss. State at home this weekend. Florida is a heavy favorite. A loss would give them the last nail to go ahead and fire him Sunday morning.

But not giving up OC duties......meh, he did this crap to himself.
From what I'm hearing (just scuttlebutt) he's toast whether Florida wins or not.

Also hearing the high dollar Gator Boosters are ultimately who made this decision.

I feel bad for the players but at some point something had to be done, so we'll see what happens.

I guess it depends on just how much he was "asked" to make changes vs was told to and didn't. Of course, I'm not an employment lawyer and I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night...
Wasn't being snippy. Just that being set up for the rest of your life without ever having to work again...man!:D

Sorry it didn't work out with BN. I think most people (including JessN, IIRC) had him as a young, up-and-coming coach. But sometimes the "big time" eats up a coach.

There's way too much talent in the Sunshine State for UF (and all the other programs) not to be winning and winning big.

While I don't wish to see more strong teams in the conference since it's already "murderer's row," I suspect UF will land a HC who is an improvement! Most coaches would crawl on broken glass to get there!

If it happens this week - or even this season - it's his own ego's fault.

He was asked to bring in a new OC, if not staff, and give up the play-calling but he stubbornly held up their end-of-season success as proof he didn't need to do it.

Had he done that, he'd have likely bought himself an extra season...

Not sure if you guys remember but last year Billy got an incentive NIL $ bonus on the condition he bring in someone else to run the offense.

All he did is promote the Co-offensive Coordinator to Offensive Coordinator - but still retained the play calling.

Talk about reneging on a deal. The boosters have good cause to kick him out......
