TALLAHASSEE -- Freshman receiver Fred Rouse, whose sideline outburst during the Virginia game caused a confrontation with coaches and teammates, was suspended for Florida State's game on Saturday at Duke.

In addition, backup offensive guard Cornelius Lewis, who filled in for injured Matt Meinrod against Wake Forest, was also suspended for one game. Reasons were not disclosed, but the circumstances are not related.

Thanks, guys. I thought I remembered recruiting going down to the wire with this guy. Since he was from Tallahasee, I wasn't shocked when he stayed home.

What I can't understand is why these type of personalities don't realize they may be killing their chances to play for big bucks when they act like this. I think the NFL is going to steer away from these trouble makers more and more. Regardless of talent, they are so disruptive that the point of diminishing returns is getting lower and lower.

backbone..when stuff like that happens you lose respect for coach bowden...at least i do anyways...

I live in Tallahassee (God save me from this city ) and all you ever read in the Tallahassee Democrap (I subscribe to the Tuscaloosa news instead! ) was how good he was and stuff..... he thinks VERY highly of himself and hasn't produced jack!! I am glad he went to FSP'YEW because I can't stand them jokers either. The guy catches a 10 yard pass and then celebrates like he just returned a punt for 100 yard touchdown........ it's funny cause the fans of the criminoles i have talked to are really starting to dislike him. ROLL TIDE!!!

Does it kill their chances? Thus far, I haven't seen the NFL being overly concerned about the behavior of its players. TO and Moss still have nice, fat contracts and plenty of attention, which is what they crave.

The funny thing is, if the next game was against a real team, he would still be suspended against Duke instead. Ol' Diddy is the king of selective discipline.

What i think is funnier is how after all the crying on the sideline he came back in late in the game when FSU was down and now he is suspended, I'm no coach but if he did something bad enough to get suspended don't you think it was bad enough to get benched.

nah. bowden's first thought was to win the game. dealing with players being disruptive, suspensions, discipline... all that comes later. it's a distant second to winning the game.
