Nice reading except for the predicted winner! :biggrin2: RTR!!!
Haha there's no chest-beating here? Riiiiight. I do agree that tsl is not much more than "readable". The format is terrible. There are plenty of very reasonable and very intelligent posters there, but there are also plenty of flamers that get quite annoying. That thread was readable. Of the remainder, or at least the ones concerning the upcoming game, about half are chest-beating and the other half ridicule Bama or Alabama residents in general. As a consequence, I read very little there. Sorry, but that's the way I see it...
I agree. Perhaps if the teams were reversed, it would be right on.Nice reading except for the predicted winner! :biggrin2: RTR!!!
sure was a lot of talk about this game, but, i will make it short and sweet.
our top 3 defense, nr. 1 or 2 against the run, if they live up to expectations, this game will be over early. the only hope va tech has that they can have a decent rush game, against our strongest unit. the tech qb is no better off than our qb mcelroy. taylor is not a good passer, and even with his potential to run, will not be enough to win. mcelroy i believe will have a good overall game. after all he has carried the clipboard for two years, i am sure he learned something, especially being all state qb in a big time texas high school with the likes of mccoy, bradford, and chase daniel.
If I had to choose, I would rather have G. Mc instead of tie rod. If I had to choose I would rather have Bamas' D than Va. Techs, I would rather have Bamas' receivers and running backs than VPI's, I would rather have Bamas' special teams than VPI's, I like our talent on the O line more than VPI's. What else is there? I say pound the rock up the middle and then pound it some more, I can't see them stopping a healthy Mark Ingram and Roy Upchurch. Pound, pound, pound right at them, smash mouth at it's best.No offense, I think McElroy will be a great QB for you guys before its all over, but he may have some difficulties in this first ever start. Tyrod was a 5* guy coming out of HS too and is going into his junior year. I think both QBs will be very good by year's end. But, this is a tough opener for an inexperienced QB. Should be a great one!
Good luck, I hope JJ and MI can play!
I didn't disagree with you...in fact i believe i agreed with you when i said there were plenty of flamers on there. I'm not sure what the argument is here.If you can't tell the difference, then there's no point in discussing it. How about the "ridicule" part? Do you see ridicule of VT here? If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll link some stuff from that site for you to read...
