Many Bama fans commented that they wanted to follow Georgia Southern during the remainder of the season and I thought I would give you all a quick update if you don't mind.
Playoffs Round 1
After the Alabama game we had a bye week to rest up for the playoffs. We were awarded the 3rd seed which meant our first round bye after the Bama game and home until/if we face a higher seed.
Round 2
Our first playoff game in round two was against Old Dominion who had the best offense we've seen all year. They put up 48 points against us and we had no answer for their offense. The GREAT news is that they had zero chance at stopping our offense as well and we did not punt the entire game (for the first time this season) and we managed to put up 55 points to secure the victory. ODU put up more points and yards against GSU than any team this season could.
Round 3 (Quarter Finals)
After the slim victory over ODU, we knew we were in for a fight against Maine because they were higher ranked than their conference members that we beat the previous week. Luckily for us we moved our backup QB to D-Back and he had two of our three interceptions and we were able to sustain a minimum of a 7 point lead the entire game for a 35-23 victory. Main was the CAA's last remaining team in the playoffs which had 5 of the 16 playoff members. The second highest was 3 from GSU's conference, the SoCon.
Round 4 (Semi Finals)
This weekend on ESPN, Either Friday or Saturday. I'll update when I have More info.
NDSU is the 2nd seeded team in the playoffs and plays in a dome in Fargo. This will be the second meeting between the schools and NDSU leads the series 1-0
