Did anyone notice the honey comb pattern on the Georgia Tech uniforms? I thought Georgia Tech was supposed to be a pretty good school but someone needs to notify their Biology department about yellow jackets. Last I checked, a yellow jacket is a wasp and not a bee and doesn't produce honey. So why the heck do they have a honey comb pattern on their helmets and jersey? Any biology guys out there?

As mentioned, a yellow jacket's nest follows the honeycomb pattern.

I agree...I like those uniforms.

The winner in the "Ugliest Uniform that Doesn't Have Any Orange" contest for the first weekend was definitely Northwestern. :biggrin2:

I do not, and never will, understand why teams do this..... I mean, there is just no logic in it!!!!!! I can see maybe going to a throwback for one game, but it just makes no sense otherwise....... I know Bama has changed a little over the years from time to time ( redundant, I know), but just in small variations... I guess I`m just stoopid.... In my lifetime, I could never imagine a school with the tradition Michigan has, go to a flourescent yellow....

Then you do not understand the economics of sports. You roll out these jerseys to sell to people who will buy them. It's simple supply and demand.

You also have the fact that young people, you know, the ones who will actually play for these teams, have repeatedly said they like the variations.

The uniform variations have been happening for some time now. Why do people still have such a surprised or bewildered reaction when a team goes that particular route?

Well, if that`s the case, maybe we should go with crimson pants, with an elephant on the front of our jerseys.... You are right in one respect, I do not understand young people this age and time..... Lord, please let me die before it happens to us....

I liked Georgia Tech's unis. Don't think they are permanent, either.

Northwestern, OTOH, supposedly is a permanent move, and those unis look horrible.

Just like with Georgia Tech, Bama had minimal changes in 2010 with the Nike Pro Combat unis.

Their yellow looked fluorescent because it was under the lights inside the dome of Cowboys Stadium. Michigan yellow, or maize as it is referred to, is a consistent color code they have copyrighted. It looked different under those lights, but I assure you they didn't change their colors.

This will fall under the who cares category, but I would never buy anything from Nike, Adidas, or Underarmour, and I'm sure they miss my patronage. I have found great Alabama gear by other manufacturers who are licensed by Alabama.
