LOL. When the whole state is run by a cheater, I knew they were cheating the count somehow. Guess this is how.
Don’t under appreciate them. They don’t come up with just one way to cheat at things. That’s amateur hour. A good GOP boy or girl needs at least 4 or 5 good ways to manipulate things their way.

I am with you but still interested in vitamin D's role in this, in the sense of does it play a casual role or does the fact that this disease particularly effects dark skinned people just skew the results due to the higher rates of vitamin D deficiency in darker skinned people.
There is the known role of D3 in our immune systems, plus the general population deficiency in it...

The ignorance of DeSantis never ceases to amaze me. Totally irresponsible and unaccountable, just like the POTUS. He and Trump must be related in some way.

These are some of the hardest working people in the country and he blames them. When I was in school I worked with Mushroom workers from Gadsden county in the evening, teaching them for the citizenship test, they came right out of the fields with something to write with and something to write on. And he blames them and their condition, and not his poor response.

Vitamin D is important for good health. I'm not buying 99% vs <5% mortality because of Vit D. I'd love for them to publish a peer-reviewed article on the subject so the claim can be evaluated. The rash of non peer-reviewed announcements has me soured on these proclamations since almost all have turned out to be bunk. Dexamethasone and similar meds are already standard of care and show realistic promise, though I'm still waiting on that one to go through peer review.

Florida added 4,049 new cases today. This is what our idiot had to say: https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article243685702.html

I mainly posted because I had seen a lot of early anecdotal reports & speculation about the role of vitamin d possibly having an impact. And unlike some other things haven’t seen that much to discount that yet. Like you I’m still waiting on better information however.

Well, I haven't upped my intake of D3 supplement based on it. My last test, I had reached a toxic level and received advice to cut back, which I did...

I don't mean to make it sound like I'm criticizing you for posting it - that's not the case at all.

How insane can the GOP be?

Nebraska governor: Counties requiring masks ineligible for relief money

The governor of Nebraska has threatened to withhold millions of dollars in coronavirus relief funds from counties that require people to wear masks. The order contradicts advice from the state's health officials and even the governor himself, who has publicly implored the public to wear masks when they go to stores.

"If they don't want to follow the guidelines, they won't be eligible for the CARES Act money," Governor Pete Ricketts, a Republican, said at a press conference about the pandemic response. "But that's certainly their prerogative to do that."

I smell a lawsuit. I doubt he can legally follow through, but it does expose the ugly that has become the GOP.

According to Worldometer, 2,330,578 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the USA. That figure is greater than the population of Houston, the fourth most populous city in the nation.

February 26, 2020... "[W]hen you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done."

That was less than four months ago.

I have been watching a documentary on Amazon - American Experience: The Great War. It is astounding how horrific a president the Woodrow Wilson was. He forced through the Sedition Act, which caused thousands of Americans to be imprisoned simply for disagreeing with public policy or the war. He created internment camps for tens of thousands of Americans of many nationalities which he considered dangerous to the effort to fight the war. He imprisoned suffragettes. He refused to warn Americans about the Spanish Flu because he did not want to disrupt the war effort. He knew that millions would die, but considered it to be a part of the sacrifice necessary to win the war. He actually believed that he was a messenger from God, delivered to help the entire world become safe for democracy.

Woodrow Wilson was his era's version of Trump, and his handling of the Spanish Flu made it far worse in America than it needed to be.
