The original got zonked so here is the sequel.

I hadn’t seen this so apologies if it was already posted. Vivek Ramaswamy wants to raise the voting age to 25. He does make exceptions if one has served in the military, works as a first responder, or passes the citizenship exam.

This would require a constitutional amendment which means it isn’t happening. He is just pandering to the “young people are woke idiots” crowd.

But threatening to take away their vote strikes me as an odd way to reach out to young voters.

This from the same like-minded group that would cut social security in a heart beat, which sustains the most loyal older GOP voters, if they could only figure out how to sell a cut without literally killing off 37% of their voting base which is 65+ years of age. The more I see from the GOP, the more I think cognitive dissonance is a foundational component of the GOP platform.

The GOP has this completely false sense of righteous indignation that is only present at the podium. The claim of “if we govern like government is supposed to…. People will see that and vote for us.” Sounds great in theory, but there are two fatal flaws within this line of reasoning:

1. It doesn't work in a nation of idiots.

2. Even if it did, you're not actually "governing like you're supposed to."

The federal government was never supposed to be this powerful or have this much influence and deep down, we all know it. Even if the GOP re-takes power in Washington, nothing is going to change. I think we all know that, too.

For some, that makes me not very smart.
For the record; I do not agree with this statement. Having said that, intelligence is highly overrated when it comes to protecting ourselves from influence. Case in point: I know a lady who is highly educated and has two master's degrees. She speaks 4 languages and can play piano. She can converse with you on any topic: philosophy, art, music, politics, etc. She's also dead broke and now lives with her daughter after losing literally everything she owned to some weird cult in California. To this day, she refuses to admit that going there was a mistake. I've never asked, but I often wonder how she votes (if at all.)

It's a pretty broad spectrum nowadays, that's for sure. I asked her daughter if this woman has a history of odd behavior and she assured me that she doesn't.....not before or since. We've all heard about people like this, of course, but this is the first time actually meeting one. Cultists have always fascinated me if for no other reason because so many really are intelligent, well-adjusted human beings who simply fell under the spell of a talented BS-artist.

I saw this AM that 58% of American probable voters said they would not vote for a convicted felon, so maybe there's a limit to insanity after all...
how many of them are thinking "Because of course Biden will be convicted by then" when they answered the question

Remember my earlier remarks about IQ. I'm afraid there won't be time even to try one of the cases against Trump, much less finding something on Biden...
