Then go share those sentiments with the WVU boards. They could use the encouragement. I'll hold out hope that CRR is our new head coach when I wake up tomorrow.

I don't know about that, they've already started to turn on CRR, calling him just an avearge coach not worthy of the $2 million/year salary.

Whoa, simmer down there partner, we're all the same team here. I just don't like the "he signed, no he hasn't, no he's coming to visit tuscaloosa, no he's already agreed in principle, etc, etc, etc" stuff I'm hearing. And lets face it, it would not be the first (or second, or even third) time that we've had the rug pulled out from us in a coaching search. Im very much hoping I'm wrong, but I've got a bad feeling about it.

Didn't mean get lost we don't want you here. Sorry if you took it that way. I was just referring to the Mountaineers in need of consoling between couch roasts.;)

Until it's signed and final, there's always the chance he pulls a Tebow, breaking down crying to Mal Moore over the phone, and playing for the national championship the next year with the home team.

There is a real cause to be concerned.

Negotiations Continue Between WVU, Rodriguez.

WVU trying to counter Crimson Tide’s offer.
West Virginia University is working to keep football coach Rich Rodriguez and the two parties have been actively negotiating today, said sources close to the situation.

Sources have also said that Alabama, who has been courting Rodriguez for most of the last week, have set a 3 p.m. deadline for a decision from the Grant Town native.

Rodriguez and his wife, Rita, met with Alabama athletic director Mal Moore Tuesday night in New York City before the College Football Hall of Fame induction banquet, according to published reports. The meeting lasted about 90 minutes.

ESPN, citing several Alabama newspapers, has reported that Alabama offered Rodriguez a six-year contract worth $12 million.

That salary would put him near the top of the Southeastern Conference. Auburn's Tommy Tuberville is the highest-paid coach in the conference at $2.2 million per year. Alabama fired Mike Shula on Nov. 26 after the Tide went 6-6 in his fourth season and lost its fifth consecutive meeting with rival Auburn.

WVU isn't going to come anywhere near Alabama in terms of matching salaries. But if he stays, it's because he truly wants to stay at WVU. Personally, I still think he comes to Bama.
