Routine followup P.E.T. scan & bloodwork. ("nuking & blood-sucking" as I like to call it...:) ) Although, one w/ my cancer will *never* view these trips & scans as "routine" again...

Wed. 2/17 - drive from H'burg to Houston
Thurs. 2/18 - P.E.T. scan & bloodwork @ MDA
Fri. 2/19 - the latest in a series of "most-important-Dr.-appts.-in-my-whole-life"

Then hopefully drive back home Friday, rejoicing in yet another good news visit. I've had two good ones in a row, which is quite an accomplishment, given that I had stage IV metastatic melanoma when I first arrived there in May 08!

Please join me in praying for accurate scans that show, in the great words of Edwin Starr, "absolutely nuthin'...huh...say it again now..." :biggrin2:

Seriously, thanks SO much for your prayers, my Crimson amigos!

p.s. - 2 Corinthians 4:7-8, 16-18; some verses that have come to mean MUCH to me these past couple of years...Look 'em up & enjoy!

Exiled,
You are in my prayers. I pray for your health and safety. May God bless you and your family.
Thanks so much for the scriptures you recommended, enjoyed reading them.
Hope to get an update soon.
ROLL TIDE my friend, and God Bless.

Good visit. The Tex-Mex Thurs. night was great; I had...oh wait...that's prolly not the most pressing update needed...;)

Seriously, a good visit. P.E.T. scan showed nothing new--which is *always* great w/ a history of metastatic melanoma. There's one small spot that's been showing up for several visits now. Unclear what it is, but it's likely *not* melanoma--this spot's size & action have been fairly constant for a year & a half now. Could be cancer, or it could be just where previous surgery inflamed something.

Thus this: back again in May for another P.E.T. scan, and I will meet w/ the surgeon then in addition to my medical oncology dude. My hunch is that he'll go ahead & operate, but we'll see. This spot is rt where he operated in summer 08, although then he went down into the lung; this one's farther out on the wall of my chest.

So again, mrs. exiled & I are pleased w/ the results of this visit.

Thanks SO much for your prayers, my crimson amigos! You're helping make it a "light, momentary affliction" as Paul wrote in 2 Cor. 4...

With humble gratitude,
exiled/Mike

p.s. - the Tex Mex was, indeed good...:biggrin2:
