I finally want to pick up and read all the Clancy novels. I understand that there is an order that should be followed.

Can anyone tell me all the Clancy titles and what sequence they should be read in?

I don't have all of Clancy's books, but I do have the ones about Jack Ryan. I would begin with "The Hunt for Red October", then
"Patriot Games", "Clear and Present Danger", "The Sum of All Fears", "Debt of Honor","Executive Orders" and "The Bear and the Dragon". Two other books, "Rainbow Six" and "The Cardinal of the Kremlin" give the histories of characters found the the Ryan books, and could be read before, during or after. Clancy has written other books, but I was only interested in Jack Ryan, so I can't comment about them.

Hope this helps. You can probably get a good deal on them at Amazon used books. They seemed quite low priced the last time I checked.

Excellent info, thanks!

I travle alot and I have made a vow that on the flight, I read something for fun and NOT drag out my laptop to work.

I have read all of Grisham's stuff, most of Nelson Demille's stuff, Angela's Ashes, most of Stephen Ambrose's stuff, and now want to tackle the Clancy stuff. I re-read Ernest Hemingway's "For Whom The Bell Tolls" last summer and really enjoyed it.

I realize this is not exactly high-brow stuff, but it provides the perfect escape from the type of work I do, and I really enjoy the break.
