Sorry folks, the barn wins another one this year. The barn D-Line will eat our pathetic O-line alive. JPW will be sacked more than Brodie!

Against MSU they flat out beat Auburn, while Bama beat Bama.
I am gonna go easy on this one. Not sure how MSU flat out beat Auburn....

Auburn out rushed them
Auburn out passed them
Auburn out returned them.
Auburn turned the ball over 5 times.
The Auburn Defense only gave up about 215 yards to MSU.
And the most important factor in the game......no Brad Lester.

I do agree that Bama has had flashes of brilliance but I don't think they are by any means world beaters. I do believe Saban will right the ship. Lord knows he is miles ahead of where he should be. I think that alone is a testament to what kind of coach he is.

As far as Auburn is concerned......don't even know where to start. The offense has struggled because of poor WR play. I place that now...as i have all season on...the shoulders of Greg Knox. I am also very concerned that we run the same 8 plays over and over and over again.

I think the Iron Bowl will be the most interesting one in possibly 10 years. Neither team has a distinct advantage over the other and neither of them have the weapons to exploit the other.

My Predidction?

Auburn 27
Alabama 24

At our place.
At night.
We have a hell of a kicker. Auburn wins on the final play of the game.

I think that we have a mis-match with our recievers against their DBs, IF JPW can get the ball to them. On the other side , I think there is a huge mismatch with their speed rushers against our o-line.
I also think that Auburn will ignore the run and bring the house early and often to try and rattle JPW.

My thoughts here are that Auburn cannot score without getting turnovers so the offense doesnt have to play great as long as it doesnt turn the ball over. I think auburns defense is good but after seeing Georgia dominate them i dont think they are as good as i thought they were. I think JP gets sacked a lot but we still manage to pull one out for the seniors....

read my lips i do not fear the other hand. we will make their day miserable this year .
Bama 31
Barn 10

Overall, not very good. They have a very, very good defense and against a john parker wilson-led offense I predict right now they will hold us to under 17 points and cause at least two turnovers.
On the other hand, they havent done much on offense either, so I really think the key match up to watch will be their O against our D. If we can hold them to 10 points or less, I think we can win the ballgame.

The barn will try and rattle JPW early if they can (which I believe they will be able to) he goes from a average QB to one that is way below average. Hopefully they will not be able to rattle him. If they aren't able to we may win this one.

JPW has not to date performed well when pressured. It the Aubs can pressure him, the Aubs win. If they can't, Bama wins.

The return game may very well determine the outcome of the game.

Auburn has had absolutely no one show up and become a playmaker for the team. Cox manages the offense well but can not make the big play when needed. They have no big-time receivers and no bona fide go-to at Tailback.

Alabama has an offense with several playmakers. JPW, when given time, can pick a defense apart. UT had no answer for DJ, and LSU was almost beaten by Kieth Brown.

Auburn's defense is quick and aggressive, but has traded speed for brawn under Tubby. They didn't have an answer for MSU's running game, or for Georgia's balanced attack.

I think our defense matches up well against their offense, and I don't see Auburn putting enough beef and brute strength up front to consistently stop the running game.

Bama 24
Barn 20 ( including +4 for home field advantage)

I think our success will depend on having our suspended players back for this game. Our O-line will have to keep the pressure off of JPW and currently, they've lost my confidence. Without solid play on the front line, we will not have a running game. Count on auburn to kick away from Javier. Count on JPW to spend too much time waiting for someone to get open, then throwing it too late for them to do anything with it. JPW just can't read the defense quick enough. If he'll just say "to hell with it" and throw to the guy playing opposite of DJ Hall in the first quarter, that may force their defense to adjust to covering the entire field. Our defense will keep us close, but it's up to the O-line to give us a running game. If we become one-dimensional, forget about it.

That being said, I hope we jump on 'em fast and give these seniors a good going-away party. :pDT_git: ROLL TIDE !!!! :biggrin2:

can there be any more ifs in a response as in this game. i think if the suspended five are eligible, we have a good chance of winning. the two offensive linemen are key. protection of jpw is a must in this game. also, coffee would add a good dimension to the offense. defensively, we have gotten better, and i dont respect cox's arm, and i believe we will blitz more than normal, to keep him off balance. their running game is not the threat it has been in the past. i also think our special teams are better. tiffin is having a great season, arenas at the top. punting the only gray area.

IMO, JPW is the key and I am not confident we will see the UT version of JPW because LSU and MSU figured out how to disguise and roll coverages that give JPW fits. It doesn't matter if he is hurried or not, I don't think he can consistently find the open receiver.

If the Barn is patient, they can run and dink us down the field. But they will find it harder to score in the red zone so I expect we'll see several FGs from their reliable kicker.

But if Barn ends up in a lot of 3rd and longs, Bama will be licking their chops and could get some turnovers.

The Barn's defense will be able to stop the run *if* Bama can't pass to set up the run. Again, it goes back to which version of JPW will show up.

As mentioned by others, Barn will kick it away from Javier so the return game will be a non-factor.

Bottom line: Bama matches up well with the Barn but QB play will determine the outcome.

If we don't play any better than what we are right now we're gonna get killed. I hate to say it but we are just losing it for some reason. Something just has to change.

If we don't change the way we're playing between today and next week we're gonna get killed. I hate to say that but appearantly we have either lost the desire to play or some people on the team have attitudes and need a real adjustment real quick.
