How does Alabama match up with saluki's

Well, the football team lost to Northern Illinois, so maybe the basketball team can get a little redemption by beating another directional Illinois school. I checked their stats and they seem to have pretty balanced scoring. I just hope we come out and play hard. Gottfried teams haven't been known to be very consistent with their level of play, but we have played fairly well the last three weeks. I would love to beat S. Illinois and have a crack at Stanford. Roll Tide.

I posted it earlier, but we share one common opponent with SIU....The Charlotte 49ers.

Charlotte beat SIU by a couple. From the looks of things, SIU doesn't have any size up front. I know we aren't that big, but we should be able to muscle them.

I have a feeling it will be a 3 point fest, though. If you go to SIU's official sport site(do a google search), you can get box scores for all their games and roster info.

Here's the link to ESPN's preview of SIU going into the tournament:

From the looks of things, they rely on their guard play. Darren Brooks looks to be their top player as he leads in both points and rebounds per game and Jamaal Tatum looks to be a serious threat from 3 Point range. They don't seem to have a serious threat in the Forward/Center position, so that might allow Davis and Davidson to play well under the net.

It will interesting to see how Shelton, Pettway, and Winston respond to SIU's guard lead offense. I say we take them, but it might be close. The goal seems to be shutting down Brooks.
