How many National Championships has the Crimson Tide won in your life?

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

    Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

    if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

1973
1978
1979
1992
2009
2011

My name tells you my birth year, so I don't remember the first one. But i don't like claiming that one anyway, since we lost the bowl game. But I think we got robbed in 1977, so that balances it out. My mom was pregnant with me during most of the 1966 season (born in June 1967), so I got cheated out of two if you count that.

'61, '64, '65, '73, '78, '79, '92, '09, and '11, thus far!!!

Well I should count 1966 and 1945 also!!!!!!!:BigA::eek::BigA:

I'm not ready to go to that happier place until we get a few more!

ONLY NINE SO FAR!!!! My uncle played on Coach Bryant's first Championship in 1961. He still has his ring. I was only six years old then. Coach Bryant went on to win five more; 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, and 1979. We didn't win another one until the university finally hired the man that Coach Bryant wanted to be his replacement. That would be Coach Stallings that taught those Miami loudmouths a lesson in 1992. Then we got Coach Saban whom I hope will win many more than the two he already has here. 2009 and 2011 were great years and he continues to recruit the kind of young men that have the character and ability to become champions. I love the Alabama Crimson Tide!

In our small community in the hills of WNC there are 8 couples attending our church with Bama ties. One wonderful gentleman is a Tuscaloosa native, he's 87 years old and was born and raised in Tuscaloosa. His dad had the taxi service in town and use to take the coaches to the train station for away games. Murph tells about the stadium being bleachers on both sides of the field. He's a 1949 graduate, after serving in the later part of WW11, and has been alive for every championship that Alabama has won.
