Yeah we are OSU....lost all credibility right there. Shattered the remaining pieces you may have still had with the 2nd part....that 220 lbs safety leads the SEC in INT's and pass break ups. I have been staying away from these..."oh yeah well mine is bigger than yours" threads but this was too stu..stu...stupid to let remain without something being said about it.

Marquise Goodwin, if you don't see enough of him in Pasadena you can probably watch him again in London when he competes for the US Track and Field team in the 2012 Olympics.
DJ Monroe played in the US Army All American Bowl last year and won Fastest Player Award and is most likely the fastest guy on the team. He got busted for DUI and was suspended for 3 games. He will be back for the bowl game.

Not trying to argue that yall aren't fast - but Demps and Holliday have both posted 100m times around 10 flat. We've played teams with fast players.
I think it comes more from the lack of respect we get in the media, not really from anything coming from Tidefans.

Is it really disrespect for Texas as opposed to sincere respect for Alabama? In 1992, I never felt that Bama wasn't getting any respect as much as I felt that Miami was getting too much based on their bravado. Bama went about its business in a quiet way, which is why the country was shocked when we killed Miami.
Both of these teams are quiet. Both are respectful and work hard. So, if Bama is favored, it is probably because of what it has accomplished - especially against Florida - not so much because anyone thinks that Texas is weak.
I liken it to the Super Bowl between the Giants and the Patriots a few years ago. All of the attention went to the Patriots before the game, and I never felt that my team (the Giants) was being treated with disrespect. The Patriots had earned that press. Of course, the game still had to be played.
Bama didn't win in 92 because Miami got all of the press, nor did the Giants win 2 years ago because the Patriots got all of the press. Those teams won because they peaked at the right time, and because of their workman-like attitude.
I think you're right. Very few in the media are giving Texas much of a chance. I'm sure they have their reasons for that, but I think it's foolish to think that either team has such an advantage that the other simply need not show up.
Most Bama fans appreciate how Texas got to 13-0. Earned my respect.
Agreed. It should be a very good game with two traditional powerhouses slugging it out. I'm looking forward to it, especially being a resident of Texas for 18.5 years now.

I can only respond to what I know about Alabama, because I've only seen Texas play maybe three times in the OU/A&M/Neb games;
1. Our defense is overall improved, more talented, and faster than last year, and we've faced the spread in a few games already this season, so toss the Utah game last year out the window, it doesn't mean anything this year.
Our linebackers are big and athletic & move really well side to side across the field. Ex.Rolando McClain moved across & chased down UF's Demps (world class sprinter) & prevented him from making the corner in the SECCG. Anders and Reamer will bring pressure as well. The mismatches occur when one of these guys get caught out of position and have to cover a wide receiver downfield which happened on one of UF"s big plays. But it doesn't happen often because BAMA plays very disciplined defense.
As good as our defense was last year this one is a lot better, especially in the secondary where it struggled at times last year against spread teams. Our D-line is much improved & while I epect Cody to play (he's our hole clogger in the middle), Texas will probably see just as much of Marcel Dareus who can & will bring pressure.
Another year in CNS system has made the difference in all areas.
This BAMA team is different on both sides. Mark Barron is young, but talented ball-hawker, Arenas is starting at CB (he does more than return kicks) he like all of our secondary will challenge everything which was not always the case last year.
2. Conditioning. I only remember one game all year that BAMA's defense showed any signs of fatigue and that was UTee which was a slobber-knocker slugfest fight-to-the-end game.
Alabama is extremely well conditioned and stays strong in the 4th quarter. As someone mentioned, we rotate our linemen/linebackers thru-out the game defensivley, and offensively also run several running backs, and typically go with the hot one early. Its not just Ingram, but also Richardson, and Upchurch. We'll also play several tight ends.
3. Florida's defense as opposed to Texas defense.
UF has speed all over the field and lots of it, and to say UT's is that much better or faster or that Alabama hasn't faced one as good, is bit of a stretch. Florida's defense ranked #1 up until Alabama beat them.
Not disrespecting UT's defense but to say Alabama hasn't faced a speedy defense like UT's all year is ridiculous statement as there are several teams in the SEC that have lots of defensive speed, LSU, Ole Miss, UT and UF come to mind, and I'd put VaTechs defense in there too. LSU has a ton of speed and may have one of the best corners anywhere in Patterson. He's one of the best I've seen. Berry at UTee is another. LSU & UF would both compare to UT, imho.
And I don't remember Florida or Alabama's defense giving up 39 points to a 6-6 team all year, although I believe Ole Miss & UTee both had a game that was similar score wise.
Just some thoughts on the subject.

No one here disrespects Texas and most understand its not easy going undefeated in any conference. I think TCU may be one of the best teams out there as well although I'm not sold on Cinci or Boise St being in the same league.
Either way, its going to be a great matchup with two very good teams. I think McCoy is one of the best qbs playing in college football, and hopefully we'll be able to stymie the McCoy to Shipley plays and keep them to a minimum. Shipley reminds me of Riley Cooper at UF, he just makes plays, and is hard to stop. So that is one of my biggest concerns as a BAMA fan, in this game. The other concerns are will our Oline and the running game be able to have success, as UT's defensive strength lies in stopping the run.

It will be a miracle if UT and Bama fans don't totally hate each other by the time the game rolls around.

Police said Benson and two others entered the apartment (kicked in the door) and searched for his plasma television. According to police, Benson asked Lucas (the neighbor) if she knew where the television was. The woman, who said she did not recognize the player, told him she did not know what TV he was talking about.
Lucas told police the group left without taking anything and without any further confrontation.
"The roommate (of Lucas) was actually the girlfriend of the main suspect in Benson's burglary," police said. "Benson believed that the television was there."
He didn't steal anything, he was looking for his stolen property.

The top three offenses Texas has faced are aTm (5), TxTech (7) and UTEP (23). In those games the Texas defense gave up an average of 333 yards and 23.3 points per game.
