He sounds like someone that could provide immediate help. He's a massive guy that both recruiting sites list as a 4 star. The fact that he's coming from Juco is a plus to since he should be that much more prepared to play immediately. Sounds great to me!

This is why Saban is at Alabama, he's going to bring in the guys he needs to win.

Always, nice to see a big guy and helps that he is listed at 4 stars. However/but/Wait a Min. he is going to have to work out in the weight room a lot, he is going to have to do some conditioning work. This is the SEC and we need players for a whole game. However/but/wait, we may have a plan if he can be a situational player, that is called having DEPTH, I can not belive I just typed the D word.

Once, again on the star thing, if the recruiting site(S) list him at higher than a 3 they feel he can come in (D-1) and help in year one or two. So, they see something in him, and who really cares on that, our staff CNS and company see something in him. So in the end, it must be a good thing.

This is very encouraging news.

However, I am always a little concerned about these 18 wheeler-sized guys out there sweating in 100 plus weather. That's a lot of beef to haul around doing 40's, ect. He's no rookie for sure, but he's not been to any of CNS tea parties in August yet.

But he's chosen wisely. May he become a terror for the opposition.

The staff will take care of him. Like I said, the little film of him I saw, I wasn't that impressed. However, this staff would not have actively pursued him if they did not feel he could be molded into run clogging NG for us, and quickly.

RTO, this is great news except it puts us in quite a budget problem. There is no way we can pay Sabans salary and feed this guy at the same time. LOL

He's been playing and practicing in south Mississippi for 2 years. And while I'm sure the August camps at Perkinston, Ms. isn't like a CNS run camp, the summers down here ain't exactly pleasant, believe me. He is used to 100+ degree weather for sure!

If he just falls down at the LOS, he cloggs 3 running lanes.

I don't see a good reason that he couldn't be valuable even if he is a situational player. You want every player to be able to start, but you can't start them all and you have a lot of scholarship players that barely play, much less start. If all he ever is at Alabama is a situational player, if he does that well he's well worth the scholarship.

That is what I am thinking as of now. Think about the several short yardage plays that occur in a ball game. If he works hard in the conditioning area he plays regardless, but to say we were thin on the DL is an understatement we need help there and are getting it. If you think how the team responded this year overall we did well, but injuries to a few and we are right back in the worry area. This does help but how much we will have to wait and see. Until we get Kerry Murphy in and the younger guys up to SEC pair we need players like this guy.

He's obviously got to lose weight, and i wasn't particularly blown away by his rivals.com video, but his coach says he's a world-beater and both of the mega recruiting sites agree he has a high value, so this sounds like a good pickup.

Besides, there isn't a soul who could claim he doesn't fill a dire need.

CNS has said if he signs a JUCO player it is because he thinks he can contribute right away. I have never heard of anyone using a red shirt year in JUCO, so I would guess he does have a red shirt year available if he were to need it.

With him commiting to Bama, I am sure that he is in good enough shape for CNS and staff. If not now at least on track to achieve good enough shape by the time he reports this summer or his commitment would not have been accepted. I was skeptical that Bama would sign Cody because it seemed he was just too big to be in CNS type of shape. Obviously I was wrong about that.
