If you could go back in time and watch any Alabama football game in person, which one would it be? Of course, you would know the outcome, but I find it exciting to watch old games when they come on ESPN Classic or some of the Crimson Classic games. You usually notice a lot of things that you forgot happened. There are also other things you would get to see like past coaches, stadiums, cheerleaders, fans, etc.

If I had to choose...I would probably go with the 1967 Sugar Bowl. We blew out Nebraska and should have been awarded the National Championship. Coach Bryant said it was one of, if not his best team. Being as young as I am, I hate that I wasn't alive to witness the 1966 team. Reading all about them in "The Missing Ring" was awesome, but I wish I could have watched them play in person.

Runner up was the 1979 Sugar Bowl...because of the Goal Line Stand...and because it was my parents' first date...and almost 3 years later came theBIGyowski.

That's fantastic that your parents first date was at the 1979 Sugar Bowl, which was also my senior year at the Capstone. What a game.

As far as a game, it would have been any Namath game. I would have loved to have seen him play in person.

Super Bowl XLII, because it would mean that my father did not pass that week. Had tickets, the Giants (my NFL team) would win in dramatic fashion, but none of that mattered then, or now, in the face of my family's loss...

You mentioned ESPN Classic and Crimson Classic games. Is there a link to those or are they just TV stations? Thanks. I was around as early as the late 50's when Coach Bryant first came to UA, and would really like to watch some of those old games. Man, what good times!!!!

The Sugar Bowl v. Notre Dame in the early 70s. (yeah...I know...we lost...before breaking out the tar & feathers, let me explain...)

That's the *only* Bama game I ever saw in person w/ my Dad, who died suddenly in Dec. 1974 when he was 3 years younger than I am now. I'd give pretty much everything I've had since then to watch that one again sitting there by his side, learning from him how to be a die-hard, passionate Tide fan w/o being transformed into the north end of a south-bound horse...even when we lose a close one to the hated Irish. I pretty much have a "Dad, I remember" moment every time I watch a game. Any game. Ours or anyone else's. Live or on TV. (Ever seen a guy discreetly wiping a tear in BDS or Legion Field back in the day at the most random, joyful time? That was prolly me...*blushes* ;) )

So, yeah...that'd be the one for me.

p.s. - my 2nd choice would be "The kick" w/ the future mrs. exiled rt there by my side in Legion--what a great day that was!...3rd would be the Goal Line Stand, which I watched on TV...

my first thought was '93 Sugar Bowl -

But I would have to go with the Goal Line Stand game. Awesome defensive finish to win the championship! PLUS I would get to see Coach Bryant coach a game live in person. I wasn't able to see the game on tv either - I was in the womb :)

I'm fortunate to have seen all of the games already mentioned, including being at Ladd Stadium for Coach Bryant's first game. But even if I hadn't. I think I'd still bypass them and go further back in time to the 1935 Rose Bowl. I'd get to see Coach Bryant as a player and also see Don Hutson who was one of the best players to ever wear the Crimson.

1961 Bama versus North Carolina State. The first game my Dad ever took me to. I had no clue what was going on, but I could feel the magic even then.

A close second would be the 92 Sugar Bowl, the last game me and Dad ever attended together. After the game we walked arm and arm down those portals and yelled "Roll Tide" in perfect unison with every Bama fan in the Superdome. Incredible experience.

Yeah. We had no idea what was coming then. I didn't even realize the EZ bleachers had collapsed and why all the ambulances were incoming. That 3-0 lead looked pretty good at half time, for those low-scoring days...

my first game was 1988 homecoming vs. Ole Miss... NO reason to want to go back and see that one. I'll never forget how big I thought the players were.

My most enjoyable experience was 1999 @ the swamp sitting row 3 on the 50yd line.

The one game I missed and would have loved to have seen would be the 1993 Sugar Bowl. I'd also like to go back in time to watch one of the classic Miami vs. FSU wide right games.

I have several I would love to go back and see in person.

1. The 2007 UT game would be fun also, I took my grandfather to that game to repay him for all the times he had taken me to games. As he gets older this day becomes more and more important to me. On that day he turned back into the papa that had taken me to games for the past 30 years. He was young again if not for that one moment in time. He screamed, jumped up and down and joined in the singing of Rammer Jammer as loud as humanly possible. He even smoked a VICTORY cigar, something I had never in my life seen him do.

2. The 1979 Iron Bowl so I could watch Bama come from behind in the 4th to snatch victory away from Auburn. Also, because I wasn't old enough to remember seeing my uncle play.

3. The 1925 Rose Bowl, I know all of us would love to be able to go back and see that 1st NC that Alabama won. Hopefully we can add to our Rose Bowl tradition this year.

Edit: Forgot about the 1994 Iron Bowl. I was having knee surgery and the only thing I remember about the game is that we stopped them on 4th down toward the end of the game. I was so drugged up that I (according to my mom) rose my head up and yelled "ROLL DAMN TIDE" so loud the whole hospital heard me. Sure am glad mom didn't get on to me for cussing that day.

I kind of had an idea. I became intrigued by Coach Bryant from when he was at Kentucky and I read about him rassling that bear. I was about 8-9 years old and I was fascinated that a boy not much older than me would take on a bear.

One thing for sure, I knew we were in for a big upgrade over Whitworth. I just didn't realize just how good it was gonna be. :)

by far would be 1979 goal line stand, thats when I really became a BAMA fan. Was 10 years old. I was in awe, watching that on TV. My dad was a aubarn fan, I can still remember him saying. "wow, I cant believe that"

That was what I really meant. I've told the story before, but one of the last things my dad said to my mom before dying in February, 1958 was "Lillian, Alabama's going to be all right; Coach Bryant's coming back." Fifty years later, I can scarcely type it without choking up...

That would be an excellent choice to really appreciate the 66 team. They carved up the Huskers with surgical precision. Coach Bryant could have named the score, but he mercifully called off the dogs.
