If you guys win out, and VT wins out, would you want to play us again?

Of course Bama would, VT is a one dimensional team that cannot pass the ball, and the only thing VT can do offensively (run the ball) is what bama defends best.

A rematch would be an even bigger blowout.

VT passed for 192 yds against Nebraska including a game winning 11 yd TD pass with 21 seconds left in the game. Granted that was no Tom Osborn Nebraska team but they are getting better. Teams with better than average pass defenses will continue to force VT to the ground game. VT could very well skate through the rest of their schedule. Bama was better than VT at the beginning of the season and would still be better at the end.

That's only good for a half in the Big12. ;)

The heads that figure who goes to what bowl would not go for a repeat of Bama vs VT. They had a chance a few years ago to put Ohio State and Michigan in a repeat at bowl time and decided the public wouldn't go for it. Better luck next time. NOT!

Can VT take 30,000+ fans that far west?
VT generally travels very well to bowl games. In recent years we've been hurt a little bit because the ACCCG has been in FL and a lot of folks can't afford to do both trips. That's hurt attendance at the ACCCG more than at the bowl games, but it's had an impact on both.

That said, for a national title game, prudent financial decisions go out the window! Especially since VT has only had one shot at the MNC. We will travel, and travel well, if Pasadena is in our future. I suspect you'd see a similar ratio to the game in Atlanta: probably something like 60-40 in favor of Alabama, but we will definitely represent if we get the chance! God invented credit cards for a reason! :)

Of course, there's a whole lot of football to be played, and we need to demonstrate some consistency on offense if we have any hope at all of making it to the BCSCG.

I think a big factor in this decision was when they played. Unless I am mistaken, it was the next to the last or last game of the season. So a rematch would have been not as interesting as a first game rematch in the MNC game. Regradless, I want to win the games to get there first... say like Kentucky.

I don't want to play you guys again, just for the sake of growing up 30 minutes from B'burg and hearing about the Music City Bowl for so long. I hope we never play again, just so I have something. That is, unless we play again and we win.
