It sounds good until you consider that Alabama and Texas are two of the best traveling teams in the country (fans). That community makes a small fortune every year during Fiesta Bowl week. I am not sure that you could pay them enough to offset the difference.

Seriously, since OSU has played and lost in the last 2 BCSCGs, they are not going to travel well for a meaningless bowl against Utah - and Utah will not travel well against anyone. How can Glendale make money on that matchup?
I'm not sure how well Ohio State fans would travel this year, generally they've traveled well to the Fiesta Bowl (hey, its warm). It isn't like Utah is that far away. I'd assume for a BCS Bowl they'd travel pretty well, but who knows?

I'm just saying this isn't an absurd possibility. It could happen pretty easily. Not saying it will, but I don't think it is unrealistic at all.

It was funny to come on here and read this thread right after reading this article.... http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/11156510 one in the same

Also, i am among the many who believe the defense in the Big 12 is, how do I say it, questionable. With that in mind, i think OU can put up points on florida but i think florida will score more and pull away in the 3rd quarter. 41-21 gators... with us finishing the year at #2.

There are rumors that Fox is trying to work it out so that Alabama plays Texas in the Sugar Bowl. No reason it couldn't happen, and it'd probably make sense from a financial perspective. Fox would just have to pay some money to the Fiesta Bowl so that it gives up Texas. I'd certainly rather play y'all than Ohio State. I'd like a shot at that AP title and Ohio State doesn't give it to us.

As the Championship... eh, I thought it was played back in Dallas awhile back, but then again I also thought Texas won that one. Shows what I know. This will be the first time all year that Florida plays another team that sees the spread day it and day out. Florida's version is definitely different to what you see in the Big 12. It is a more power-run version of the spread. I will say, Julio Jones was open at will against Florida's secondary. The Sooners have a lot more weapons that can attack down field. Then again, a lot of your success was predicated on the power run game, which OU doesn't have.

Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for Florida too. Maybe to the tune of 45-35? There might be some justice in the world if that were to happen.

Would love this matchup- Bama vs. Texas.

I think it's highly unlikely the Fiesta passes on a Texas-OSU matchup. Hopefully the Bama faithful start ramping up emotionally for a game with Utah. And don't take 'em lightly.

Agreed. We'll need to be ON our game.

I wish the Fiesta Bowl would take Boise State vs Utah. Boise State beat OK in that game a few years back, so it would seem like there would be some interest. And it would free up Texas for the Sugar Bowl.

I disagree with the premise of the thread. OU has a very good shot at beating UF IMO. There's no doubt in my mind that UF has the better defense but by the same token I believe OU has the better offense. Special teams could be OU's downfall, as I would give UF a clear advantage there. I think it'll likely be a high scoring shootout with the team making the fewest mistakes coming out on top. Aside from USC, these are probably the two most talented teams in the country, it should be a heck of a game.
