I feel like we are just barely staying ahead of the lions chasing us. Ty's passing is awesome but still some decisions are a bit baffling, We finally got Williams back in gear but Horton kind of disappeared and Brooks had a drop. Plus some said the pass that was knocked down and fumbled would have been a TD to Brooks had it been completed. The running game was perhaps as bad as I've ever seen it, I'm not sure if Miller was really "ok". Hard to complain about the results on D but dang what is with the long runs by the UT running back. I feel like they are so close to being a great team but if they can't continue to improve as they go they won't get there. That means they can't take a week off just because it's not a top 10 team because it's really more about them than it is who we are playing.

Miller seemed far under 100% and we kept running him into a brick wall!

Every SEC game this year is a trap game. The portal and NIL has a lot do with it. No longer do you just walk out and “out talent” the other guy. You go out and play a mediocre game against a historically weaker team, you’ll get handed a loss before you know it. Those teams’ rosters may not be as deep, but they have enough comparable talent at key positions to beat you.

USCe looked terrible against OU last week at home. But you can’t “take it to the bank” they’ll play like that against us this week.

That's the thing that gets me, so you're having a not so perfect season. You look down the schedule and you just mail it in for everyone else, but you see that crimson and it's like the red blanket the bull fighters use. If they put that sort of effort into other games they would invariably have a better record but for some reason it all seems to be about beating Bama. And the crazy thing is, it's not new. It was this way under Shula. Look at the records. Almost no head coaches got fired as long as Shula and his probation depleted roster (and terrible OL coach) were there to give them the "I'm not gonna get fired" card. Then saban comes in and the entire SEC head coaching class was fired in 5 years.

So I recreated the game with NCAA 2025. First the stadium was rocking so much that it shook my controller. Our defense played like they have been playing lately. I could not run very much on them and they covered the receivers well. I ended up getting out of there in a low scoring game with a touchdown pass in the final 2 minutes due to a pick that kept them from scoring.

I hope for the win but not the difficulty this Saturday.😉

Good morning, Mr. Sunshine!

Let's assume they don't catch lightning in a bottle and the entire team have a "Stephen Garcia" day. They have struggled on offense to move the ball through the air and honestly, on the ground as well. Their defense is nothing like it was last season. If they play how they've played all season and we play our game and not lay an egg. We should win going away. But I'm mentally being conservative (for my own peace of mind) and just assuming USCe will come out firing on all cylinders.

Just coming off a string of fantastic wins. Setting an NCAA record for beating 4 ranked teams in a row. The #4 team in the country. Ty Simpson being held up as the Heisman front runner. Facing a team that is close to last place in the SEC. And finally with all that rat poison spilling left and right, this game is on the road….

We need to focus and continue the no nonsense approach. If our OL continues its growth, Hill continues to grow, RW gives us another all effort game, we will put some serious points up. If the D continues its growth with players like Pierre, Morgan, and Hill Green step up again, we could get a shut out. But if we sleep walk, give half rear end effort, and lack hustle…. USCe can upset us!

What say you?
For what it's worth.... I don't think the team is taking South Carolina lightly. Everything I am seeing and hearing this week seem to indicate that they're focused and I don't see any issues popping up that might indicate that it would be a trap game.

The run game issues on both side is bothering them and they're hellbent on proving that it can be fixed. If anything rat poison is coming from fans who's either worrying about the game for no reason. Never mind about Deboer Track records .... He is not the same coach he was at washington and that's good news for us .

Horton was ok. But Ryan Williams was hot. He and Germie got 10 of the 19 completions. Five each.

He definitely didn't look healthy and to be honest, I question whether he even needed to be playing. That's why I think we need Daniel Hill to start to emerge as a legitimate second option if we're going to continue to call plays between the tackles. Riley just isn't big enough to consistently do it and it may take several weeks for Miller to get back to 100%. But I'd prefer Hill to start emerging because at 245 lbs he could wear down the defense much sooner in games than the other two backs. Hill is a LOAD to bring down.

Seems to be a more legit trap game than Vandy was. This feels like entering the Vandy week from last season. Only one way to see if the team and coaches have learned from that lesson.

Yep, this game is going to be just as much of a test as the road game against UGA and Missouri. Can the staff and players handle success and take care of business against teams they're supposed to take care of business against. If we can do that Saturday, I think it is safe to say CKD has "learned a few things" since week one and last season.

The best thing about being a Crimson Tide fan is that the game really means something to everyone on our schedule, which is also the worst thing since we are the circled game for everyone we play. The cocks are going to come out swinging and we will get their best shot.
