If a Mike Shula offense beats us, I shudder to think what SEC Shorts will do with that, 6 days before Halloween!
Don't feel bad...I for one am still suffering from shell shock from last season’s losses, lol. I need that fear proved wrong a couple times before I relax!
Their latest AP Poll ranking is #64. But if not prepared, it could be another FSU type game.Pretty sure the sink is all they have. These number are terrible.
I feel like we are just barely staying ahead of the lions chasing us. Ty's passing is awesome but still some decisions are a bit baffling, We finally got Williams back in gear but Horton kind of disappeared and Brooks had a drop. Plus some said the pass that was knocked down and fumbled would have been a TD to Brooks had it been completed. The running game was perhaps as bad as I've ever seen it, I'm not sure if Miller was really "ok". Hard to complain about the results on D but dang what is with the long runs by the UT running back. I feel like they are so close to being a great team but if they can't continue to improve as they go they won't get there. That means they can't take a week off just because it's not a top 10 team because it's really more about them than it is who we are playing.
That's the thing that gets me, so you're having a not so perfect season. You look down the schedule and you just mail it in for everyone else, but you see that crimson and it's like the red blanket the bull fighters use. If they put that sort of effort into other games they would invariably have a better record but for some reason it all seems to be about beating Bama. And the crazy thing is, it's not new. It was this way under Shula. Look at the records. Almost no head coaches got fired as long as Shula and his probation depleted roster (and terrible OL coach) were there to give them the "I'm not gonna get fired" card. Then saban comes in and the entire SEC head coaching class was fired in 5 years.USCe looked terrible against OU last week at home. But you can’t “take it to the bank” they’ll play like that against us this week.
Good morning, Mr. Sunshine!I feel like we are just barely staying ahead of the lions chasing us. For what it's worth.... I don't think the team is taking South Carolina lightly. Everything I am seeing and hearing this week seem to indicate that they're focused and I don't see any issues popping up that might indicate that it would be a trap game.Just coming off a string of fantastic wins. Setting an NCAA record for beating 4 ranked teams in a row. The #4 team in the country. Ty Simpson being held up as the Heisman front runner. Facing a team that is close to last place in the SEC. And finally with all that rat poison spilling left and right, this game is on the road….
We need to focus and continue the no nonsense approach. If our OL continues its growth, Hill continues to grow, RW gives us another all effort game, we will put some serious points up. If the D continues its growth with players like Pierre, Morgan, and Hill Green step up again, we could get a shut out. But if we sleep walk, give half rear end effort, and lack hustle…. USCe can upset us!
What say you?
Horton was ok. But Ryan Williams was hot. He and Germie got 10 of the 19 completions. Five each.I feel like we are just barely staying ahead of the lions chasing us. Miller seemed far under 100% and we kept running him into a brick wall!
Seems to be a more legit trap game than Vandy was. This feels like entering the Vandy week from last season. Only one way to see if the team and coaches have learned from that lesson.
