I'd be curious to see come fall whether the number on Coker trumps the number on Duron Carter.

Next year Bama will unveil Coker at QB, Duron Carter at WR, Jimmy Johns and Derrick Henry at stacked ILB's (Innovative 3-3-1-4 alignment that will take CFB by storm!) Joe Kines will take over as the new stadium announcer.

Sounds like Cornwell is taking the news & added competition all in stride..I hope Cornwell does win the starting job, if he does, he will be playing at the highest level of competition there is on the college level..Competition makes everyone better..I love it..

I'm still rooting for Blake Sims. Yes, I have my doubts but he's waited his turn, not pouted or transferred and I really hope he develops even more this off season and has his shot in the spotlight. Nothing against Coker whatsoever I just like to see guys who wait their turn and keep a positive attitude get their reward.

i am with you Buzzard. I am sick of the Blake Sims hate on this board. The kid has only played mop-up duty and in scrimmages. let's see what he can do.

If Coker comes in and proves he's the best option in 2014, this sets up perfectly for us to get to a Cornwell and Parks showdown in what would be their Redshirt Soph and Freshman years (if Coker plays two).

It would be a good cycle!

Even if Coker is one and done, it gives Cornwell the time to learn the speed of the college game more and settle into college life, maybe redshirt and then take over as the starter in 2015. Not a bad deal either way.

I hope this works out.

Mobile has ALWAYS been loaded with talent.

Senior Bowl always has players from Mobile and surrounding area...they are frequently invited, anyway. Solomon Patton is the only one that comes to mind now for this year, but that doesn't count the two who declined.
And that is not counting the 3rd year players who have left early for the NFL, who probably would have been invited.
