Even if Coker is one and done, it gives Cornwell the time to learn the speed of the college game more and settle into college life, maybe redshirt and then take over as the starter in 2015. Not a bad deal either way.
It would be great if he could be a one and done because that means he would have to really come in and light it up - I would be good with that.

Forgive me, but I'm sick of seeing Bama "fans" thinking this guy is the second coming.
This is what he's proved to me---NOTHING, other than the fact that he was the second string quarterback at Florida State.
So are we taking their leftovers now? And proud of it?
Every QB on our roster has a legitimate opportunity to prove themselves in the spring.
To assume that he's going to be "the guy" is absolutely ridiculous.
He's done nothing and proved nothing. Give me a break.
sip

I haven't seen so much folks hating on Blake, I've seen folks express legitimate concerns about him passing the ball, if Blake wins the starting job, folks will support & put our faith in our coaches decision to start Blake..Cause if Blake wins the starting job,he obviously put his passing abilities to bed, and won the starting job fair & square..JMO

i am with you Buzzard. I am sick of the Blake Sims hate on this board. The kid has only played mop-up duty and in scrimmages. let's see what he can do.

So he's in the same boat as every other QB on our roster. This is a message board about Alabama football. That's what this thread is about.

He's clearly done enough for Nick Saban to take time away from recruiting high school kids 2 weeks before NSD to visit with him and his family.

By that reasoning aren't all the qbs on our roster that backed up aj leftovers? Does that mean aj was mcelroys leftovers? Eddie lacy was the leftovers of Ingrams leftovers? This would be a good pick up for the roster

Saban wouldn't go after a transfer if he wasn't impressed and if he didn't think he would win the job. Give me a break indeed.

Dude I've forgotten more about Bama football than you've ever remembered. I need to sign off before I really get p.o.'ed
Seems like you post with a lot of bravado, which is fine, but just don't be so sensitive when someone dishes it back to you. I've never claimed to know more than anybody on here. And if I did know more than somebody I wouldn't brag about it on the internet.

Good pick up? Yes! Guaranteed savior at the QB position? NO! Chop, the general attitude of the thread is that this guy is the man who's going to lead us to the promised land.
I just think he needs to prove himself.

I think folks are excited because he took the last Heisman winner to the wire, for the starting QB job at FSU last fall, and from all indications, the decision was a toss up between he & Jameis..If that's any indication as to how good he is, there's legitimate cause to be excited, if he comes to Bama..i agree with ya though, he needs to get on campus & earn the starting job before we get all giddy with excitement & anoint him the next great QB at Bama..[

By the way... the ESPN article has been edited to include that sources are confirming his transfer to Alabama pending his finishing his course work...

I was you I would lie down and get a nap. Ol Sip has been around here a day or two and I've learned in the last few years that 'he does know what he's talking about'. My guess is he would make a great friend or terrible enemy. tifwiw

I'll agree with you that he's an unknown prospect just like anyone who may or may not start for us. You're absolutely right about that. But it would be just as wrong to discount him without seeing him play as to praise him. To be fair I hope the hypes true but it's true that it should all come with a grain of salt. It's the same as the reaction we get to recruits when they commit.
