When the info that came out about UA possibly looking at M Seisay(teammate of Dixon) it was said because at that time that site believed there was going to be an issue with D Belue not having what needed to have done and that Belue would be headed to UNA. This was all being reported on Alabama Intel. I am starting gain alot of respect for thier info.

Several days ago when we heard he had cleared, I talked to a reliable source who said he was still taking a class needed. I believe it was a course on officiating. It was second hand so I'm not sure if the course was right or not.

I don't get it. Do the players not know what they need to take? Do the counselors/advisers at the JUCOs not know? Is the Bama admissions offices failing on this? What is the deal?

Typically Saban doesn't take JC recruits unless they qualify in December. This doesn't look good for Belue. Saban may be foreced to take another DB in place of Belue. Our spots are few and valuable. Don't want to waste one on an ineligible player.

M Seisay, Bush and Howard have all been mentioned lately by Bama folks. I wonder if Saban has been preparing for this and has a fall back plan if it did happen.

Lots of talk that Belue came up three hours short on credits and is now scrambling to find some sort of interim course to take. Only God knows how the ball was dropped on this one between him and his counselors, but it certainly looks like this has blown up at the last minute.

For what it's worth, Belue was supposed to fax his LOI to 'Bama either yesterday or this morning. Obviously that hasn't happened.

Sigh ... I continue to be amazed how frequently stuff like this happens. Maybe it's more complicated than it seems, but it just seems like the parties involved would check and double check that all the classes being taken are going to be accepted.

Sigh ... I continue to be amazed how frequently stuff like this happens. Maybe it's more complicated than it seems, but it just seems like the parties involved would check and double check that all the classes being taken are going to be accepted.

I don't see how it can be difficult. It's a Junior College (AKA stepping stone for a 4 year school). The advisers should know exactly what it takes to get into the schools. It's not like North East has never had someone go to Alabama before.

Good Lord! How can you not know how many freaking credits you have?!?!?!?! If he can't grasp this, would he be able to handle a full load and prime time football at the Capstone? I continue to be amazed at the lack of "want to" from some of these recruits. When I was in college, I knew every credit I had and every credit I needed......it's not brain surgery for goodness sakes! (rant off)

Good Lord! How can you not know how many freaking credits you have?!?!?!?! If he can't grasp this, would he be able to handle a full load and prime time football at the Capstone? I continue to be amazed at the lack of "want to" from some of these recruits. When I was in college, I knew every credit I had and every credit I needed......it's not brain surgery for goodness sakes! (rant off)

Kids can be misled and given a false sense of confidence by adults that should REALLY know better. It was their job. Not knowing the facts, I'll defer my opinion (not sure if this compares to Duron Carter) as this seems to recurring...

He is old enough to find out what he needs on his own regardless of what people are telling him. When I was in college there wasn't anyone holding my hand to make sure I took a fine arts class. I just can't believe this stuff keeps happening, and that it happens at the last minute. Take some responsibility for your future.

I would agree, but not everyone comes from the same educational background, nor have the same academic proclivities. I'll leave it at that. So I'm choosing to lay the broad brush down.

Remember a year ago when Brent Calloway got wrong transcript/course advice from his Guidance Counselor? It turns out that his Counselor was the wife of his High School football Coach.........a Barner that was trying his hardest to get Calloway to the Barn.

It wasn't Brent's fault that he got "mis-guided" by his Guidance Counselor.

was just checking out hte 24/7 page of belue (they added video), and couldn't help but notice his twitter. says felt good to sign them papers, and a few other tweets seemingly about the class/enrolling. so who knows if this is accurate or anything, but it's interesting.

by the way, they rank him as the 5th best JUCO.

I know what you mean, but this isn't rocket science at my high school they just had a checklist that you had to fill out to make sure you had everything. It shouldn't be much more complex than checking boxes off. This is just so frustrating that with all the people involved these situations continue to happen.

Remember a year ago when Brent Calloway got wrong transcript/course advice from his Guidance Counselor? It turns out that his Counselor was the wife of his High School football Coach.........a Barner that was trying his hardest to get Calloway to the Barn.

It wasn't Brent's fault that he got "mis-guided" by his Guidance Counselor.

Brent was in HS, while Belue is in college....still no excuse. When I was a HS Jr, I took control of my destiny and did my own scholarship search.

I know what you are saying. And I agree with you and derek that it's right there for the asking. I also know that all folks are not wired the same way as me. I also don't even know if Belue was flat-out given bad info. "All you have to do is ____". He does that, and wham-o. I can't say that I can place all of the blame on Deion, on the the info we have so far.
