If you are the AD of a premier team in college football and your primary goal is to land someone other than Nick Saban, you should be fired. They have to at least make a run at Saban and let him turn them down before they move on to more realistic candidates, IMO.
They already made their run for CNS and he declined.

Yeah, I heard that rumor, too. I don't see Saban going anywhere, but that doesn't keep teams from trying. He is like a great committed recruit. You don't give up on them until NSD.

Did anyone click the links on the website? The "About Us" talks about a fitness center. The "Contact Us" lists an address in Cypress, Texas. Looks to be a business trying to attract clicks and attention to its website.
Yeah................that was my conclusion.

Breathing fumes from "Stinkadena" will do that to you. (Which reminds me, for some reason, of the "Last in Kadora" routine. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.)

It's not a rumor. Saban stated publicly after the 2011 season that he had turned down several offers including Texas. That he and Bama had made a committment to each other.

Sorry, I must have missed the "including Texas" piece. I do remember him addressing this with the media, but I did not remember him naming schools.

maybe they should go after coach sumlin!
I actually think that would be a scary thought of Sumlin at Texas..Most Texas Blue Chippers grow up LongHorn Fans, as good as Sumlin is doing at Texas A&M, he would do twice as good at Texas recruiting wise..I think he would do as good as Coach Saban is doing at Bama..Sumlin could build a Monster Program that could be on par with what Coach Saban has built at Bama, Texas would be foolish not tho make a run at Sumlin, I think Sumlin could wake the sleeping giant known as LongHorn Football..Boy that would devastate Aggie Fans..LOL

You're correct. He never publicly stated who pursued him after the 2011 season. But he did say several offers were made through his agent.

I'm going to believe that CNS finishes his coaching career in Tuscaloosa, but if he woke up one morning with an inexplicable itch to find another challenge with another school, Texas (and Austin) is the only one that I believe could be a contender, especially if Dodd retired. I truly hope that Bill Battle can develop as close of a relationship with CNS and Miss Terry as they had with Mal Moore.

I think you are right about him not specifying UT. I "misremembered" :). I think it was "reputable" sources (I "think" Cecil Hurt was one) who stated that Texas was one to which he was referring. To me that is the same as Coach Saban himself saying it, but I realize others may not view it that way :).

You have no idea how many times Longhorn fans tell me they would have won if Colt wasn't injured - I still hear it daily! Who would want to coach a bunch of losers!!

With A&M moving to the SEC everything has changed. Texas does still get its share of recruits but A&M has closed the gap and will soon overtake them. Texas A&M in my opinion has been a sleeping giant and they now can offer recruits something Texas can't, a chance to play in the best league outside the NFL.

I still say the jury is out on how "good" Sumlin is. I'm not ready to say he could be on par with CNS even at Tejas.

I will agree that Tejas would be DUMB not to go after him though.
