You get this crap: LINK.

What's really at work is "Saban to anywhere on earth but Bama." The guy takes a million dollar cut to come to Bama and donates a million to UA almost immediately, and he's going to leave for CLEMSON?!?! I thought they had all finally waked up and realized that he's not about money at all - the last care in his life - but, they're really, really pitifully desperate...

I couldn't get anything to come up when I clicked on the link, Earle. Please summarize....

It's the Scout board, which is a free registration, unless you have Bama or Tide in your username, in which case they won't register you - I can still read, using my Bamamag registration - but they cut off my posting rights long ago. It's just some guys fantasizing about Saban taking the Clemson job for five million, ridiculous on a half dozen counts...

Looks like some barner trying to stir something up. I have been hearing Sabans name thrown around in several venues the last few days. Some say we need someone like Saban to come in (clemson, auburn, Ags), some say lets go after him, I heard a roundtable discussion out of clemson on the radio yesterday that said "taking Saban off the table, who would you like to come to see come to clemson?". I couldn't decide if they meant that he was unattainable, or that they were entertaining it but realistically trying to drum up some other names. With as many job openings though that may be available by years end, I won't be surprised to see the rumor mill in full swing.

All you had to do was listen to Terri Saban on Finebaum today to know they are very happy in Tuscaloosa and have no desire to be anywhere else.

It doesn't surprise me, a bit.

When CNS was hired, I knew it would come with the territory.

Let's play Devil's advocate....even if it were to be true, he's already built this team up with good recruting and coaching. We're almost to the point of reloading rather than rebuilding. CNS has already made Bama a major factor not only in the SEC but nationally, as well.

Unfortunately, though, for our rivals, he'll be at Bama to cause more havoc for years to come.

It may take a few years for that whole "Saban to x" mentality to go completely away. For some reason people continue to want to take shots at our coach and question his staying here. Actually they want to take shots at us and that's all they've really got anymore.

Desperation will make you cling to just about anything, presenting in the mind a cool, crystal clear spring ... in the middle of a dry, parched desert.
Sadly, I can remember a time not too long ago when Tommy Bowden was the hot name in play for the Bama job.

That's an Auburn forum. Bama for years hasn't been willing to pay for a big name coach, that has changed my friends (finally). You can bet on this one, no matter who coaches Bama football in the future. You can count on, number one he will be a great recruiter and two he will have the best facilities and tradition get the best players out there.

That talk is out there. (This is my mod/rumor privilege...) :D
Speaking of 'talk', 'out', and 'there' here is another thread. You may have already looked at it. Don't know the reliability but its interesting anyway.

1440 AM Noon Round Table reporter Doug Amos claims to have been in touch with higher-ups, and he now states that he"believes CTT will not be AU coach next year, and the change will be mutual, and occur before season's end." Will be negotiation process, he says, regarding 6 Mil buy-out. Amos was a print/ TV reporter before radio, so he does have some contacts w/AU people.

If Auburn agrees to give Tubs $3 mil, I think he would accept that, pick up his marbles and go home. He's obviously not happy and has lost control of his staff.

I was over there reading that tonight....do they ever talk about the barn thy are so obsessed.

It's just wishful thinking and hoping and praying on their part. They see the writing on the wall.

I hope they suffer for a LONG time with Tubbs.

Is it just me or does a lot of the barn fans seem to be acting more delusional than normal lately? You have Pat Dye rambling about John Parker Wilson being a caddy even as he holds virtually every passing record at Alabama. Now Wilson is named one of ten finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and he is on the Maxwell Award watch list. You have Markie Green's inane ramblings, and the barn masses seem to be out of touch with reality still flashing seven around like it has already happened. :pDT_kuku:

The funny thing to me is that people say other schools will pay $5 million to lure Saban away. You really think Clemson or anyone else for that matter is going to outbid Alabama after we've seen how Saban has turned us around? Nobody, and I mean nobody, is going to outbid us for coach Saban. Not that it's about money for Saban, but if it were....nobody is going to beat UA. Saban will retire at UA. I love it.
