A Tallahassee TV station is reporting that Saban has offered the DC to FSU linebackers coach Kevin Steele.
Steele was never HC of the Panthers.:wink:My understanding is that Steele is one of the best recruiters in college football. I don't know a lot about him other than we was the head coach with the Carolina Panthers before he went to F$U and he is very highly regarded as a recruiter.
Got a link? Not questioning your post I just wanna read whats being said.Just reported in Jax that Steele is a Bama man now...DC
Sorry, no link. Just listening to 1460 am station.Got a link? Not questioning your post I just wanna read whats being said.
Bobby can't let him take Mickey's title. The guy "Belue" radio talk host and FSU alumn is saying Steele is done deal and now we are waiting on Jimbo. He is blasting FSU for letting it happen and calling for the AD's head if they let Jimbo get away from FSU.He seems highly qualified. Linebacker coach for Tom Osbourne during Nebraska's glory years, and held the same position at Carolina when they were good. Former head coach at Baylor. The only bad thing about him is that he is a Vol, but I can get over that.:biggrin2:
It looks like this is his first defensive coordiantor gig.
A source at SECTalk.com says he's pretty much taken the job. Joe Kines will most likely remain in Tuscaloosa as the Director of Football Operations or in a different coaching position of defense. I say he should take a "higher ups" job like the DFO. He's 62 and he had a great run. I'm gonna miss him.A Tallahassee TV station is reporting that Saban has offered the DC to FSU linebackers coach Kevin Steele.
Getting Steele is HUGE. He is a fantastic recruiter and coach. He won an award a couple of years back as the nations best recruiter.per WJOX just now, confirmed, Steele named DC at Bama.
