It's cruel yes, but the distinction between the two is extremely important.Doesn't really matter what they call it - it was devastating, and cruel.
They wouldn't. A lot of today's players want the highlights that come from hard hits and it's just easier to deliver a harder more fantastic blow if you use improper form. We have a beast of a linebacker who is a prime example. I love his play, but hope he changes before something similar happens to him.I wonder what would happen if they started using lacrosse helmets instead? Somehow i think the players would totally change how they play.

I appreciate the intent of your post and certainly lament Kevin's passing and the related circumstances. However, I "demanded " nothing of Kevin or any other players; certainly not that they "suffer" for my entertainment. I feel sad but I don't feel selfish.Demanding others suffer like he and his family for our entertainment is beyond selfish.
Perhaps you misunderstand. I am not referring to Mr. Turner's time at UA as this was not on the public radar then. I am referring to those who currently rail against rule changes that make the game safer by eliminating some hits, often claiming we may as well play flag football in the process. It's one thing to disagree with the implementation of safety measures. It's quite a different matter to disagree with safety measures because fewer damaging hits supposedly make the game less enjoyable. So if you aren't one of the people crying that protecting players ruins the game then we have no argument.I appreciate the intent of your post and certainly lament Kevin's passing and the related circumstances.
