From the SEC office:
KIFFIN REPRIMANDED
BIRMINGHAM – Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive has issued a public reprimand to University of Tennessee head football coach Lane Kiffin for his public comments concerning officiating Sunday.

“Coach Kiffin has violated the Southeastern Conference Code of Ethics,” Slive said. “SEC Bylaw 10.5.4 clearly states that coaches, players and support personnel shall refrain from all public criticism of officials.”

“This is the second reprimand for Coach Kiffin in this calendar year. Coach Kiffin is on notice that for any further violations of SEC policies will subject him to additional penalties including suspension.”

I wish the press release would have gone into further detail. It needed to be pointed out that Kiffen's allegations were factually wrong due to his not understanding the rules.

UT's delusial fans will just interpret this as the SEC trying to cover up their pro-Alabama conspiracy.

I love it...I just doubt that he's actually going to be quiet, even when they threaten him with suspension.

It's all about blaming someone else for EVERYTHING!!! In a couple of years he and Chizik can sit back and talk about how BAMA gets away with everything.

Tenn-a-flee does have talent but Kitten will NEVER get them to be their best because he is a puppet and a used car salesman. Sooner or later that used car warranty will getcha little kitty!!!

What exactly is it going to take for Kiffin to actually have to face some consequences? If Coach Saban had done/said 1/4 of what Kiffin has, he'd have been publicly hanged...

A reprimand from the conference is a pretty serious consequence, and so is the threat of suspension. I don't know for sure, but I would be willing to bet that there are clauses in his contract that cover ethics, public behavior and professionalism. If so, and if his compensation is tied to them, he could get smacked in his wallet, and Layla will have to make do with last year's wardrobe.

Maybe he won't see his first recruit graduate from UT!

Facts have no place in this. It's repeat violation of "no-mouthing" and calling out the commish in public that's about to get his clock cleaned.

I don't know, a "reprimand" isn't much until there's a material consequence IMO. Little Kif said it himself that he'd get "one of those letters that don't really matter" and until he gets a suspension or gets hit in the wallet, it really "doesn't matter..."

Although it seems like it some times, CLK isn't operating in a vacuum. I don't think the University of Tennessee and his bosses are going to be particularly amused by this latest incident.

Wouldn't it be something if he got his immature bottom fired before the rest of the SEC could kick it for the next 2-3 years?

If he claims a letter from the SEC's office don't matter one more time, he'll need a court-appointed lawyer. Don't worry about Layla... add me to the list who would shop for her 2010 wardrobe.

I'm 50 and cannot remember another coach getting this type of warning. I think Lane's daddy didnt spank the boy enough as a child. Is it too late?
Classic...his daddy wasn't ever around....3 months out of the year ain't enough time for discipline.
He will get spanked if he gets suspended...Phat Phil will come back and put a whuppin on his hiney...

Back in the 80s, after an SEC game with particularly egregious officiating, the losing coach came out for his press conference, put his checkbook in front of him, and said, "Ok, let's talk about the officiating."
