Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
It's hard to get to a QB who's getting the ball out within 2 seconds, and that's what Ty was doing most of the night. Even when he held the ball longer, he scrambled away from the rush and (as Kirby said) completed passes outside the pocket.

The Film Guy said "I don't know if there's a defensive player in college football that can get to a QB in two seconds." When a quarterback is playing on time, the defense is not going to get to him very often.

Certainly a confluence of things that led to Georgia losing that game. When Alabama can play this error-free (low penalties, no turnovers again), it makes up for a lot of the other things Alabama still doesn't do particularly well (running the ball, run blocking, run defense, and hanging on to thrown balls right in our hands!)

All of that, together with a bad call on a 4th down by Georgia, and a dropped wide open TD catch (we had one too), led to a close loss.

The recipe for Alabama to win begins with "no margin for error". We must be always efficient, continue to keep the penalties down, and continue to protect the football. Doing those things, so uncharacteristic from the team of a year ago and even from 2023, is going to lead to a playoff birth.

Got to say, that was class on Kirby’s part. And I’m not much of a fan.
Kirby is the only one that wears Red and Black that actually tips the cap to Alabama. I have new found respect as well.

The narrative on Atlanta sports radio is Georgia shut down Bama in the second half and should have won, neglecting to look at the fact Bama got at least 2 first downs on every possession in the second half except the ‘three and out’ Bama had when pinned deep in their own territory. Georgia gained 168 yards in the second half with one score, Alabama gained 151 yards with a missed field goal. Nothing about that screams ‘shut down’ . i have every confidence that if Georgia would have scored on the fourth down play, instead of getting stopped on fourth and one, Bama would have put together a scoring drive To re take the lead. Especially given we got the ball back with with 3:31 , they had 4 timeouts and we ended the game. I wondered how a pass happy offense could run a four minute offense, now we know.
