If the jury deadlocks on one charge, the prosecution would have the chance to retry the case only for that charge. The rest of the verdicts would stand as decided.

Also, the judge still hasn't ruled on the defense's motion to declare a mistrial based on prosecutorial misconduct:
I doubt a mistrial is going to happen with a case like this. The public is already in a frenzy over how the judge has handled this trial. Awarding a mistrial via prosecutorial misconduct would probably start riots.

I'm not sure the judge cares (or should care) about how the public will react if he feels it's a needed move.

Also:
if the prosecution is withholding exculpatory evidence then sure, but let’s also accept that defense has been Hollywooding the hell out of this case and the judge has mostly allowed them to get away with it. More to the point… I seriously doubt a mistrial at this point

I think I get your point but a hung jury is a mistrial also.

Only in the sense that they both require a new trial (if the prosecutor so decides). However, the prosecutor's decision is definitely influenced by which it is. Most mistrials (declared by the judge) would likely be retried, if the error found by the judge could be corrected. OTOH, if, after a hung jury, investigation shows one juror holding out for conviction and 11 wanting to convict, a retrial would be very unlikely. So, there is a significant difference...

Other than the National Guard standing by.....what keeps peaceful protests from turning into riots?

And I know no one wants to see looting, God forbid. In addition to damage of private property it's just bad optics for those wishing just to protest.

I don't really feel using armed forces is the answer. In fact, I despise that people feel it's even necessary.

So much media coverage on all this other stuff - why not more community leaders and elected representatives on TV every hour strongly condemning such behaviour. Make that THE big story.

True, and that "elected representative" needed to be the president...

They just want to see antifa rioting in the streets so they can say see there are bad people on both sides.

I mean, I don't care what the public wants, I just want justice served. Whatever the jury decides, so be it.

If people riot over this, they are bad people. Burning down business and destroying private property isn't the right answer and is only likely to bring more cases like this about.

Agree but the wing nut conservatives don't think that way...

Agree. Now if the justice department and other law enforcement goes after the law breakers with the same intensity as they have the capitol rioters then at least there would be consequences.

Are there two sets of rules when it comes to breaking the law?

Put another way - other than Rittenhouse - were there other arrests in the Kenosha riots? Pretty sure there was at least property damage and assaults.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
KR lied on the stand. The video proves it. He pointed the assault rifle at the protesters in the beginning. He caused this all to happen. All of it. He is 100% responsible for those deaths.

The video is an interesting microcosm of what a Rorschach test this trial has been.
