Lot of people think Munoz is thte one to take the OC with LSU but the thing is, Brady may take Munoz with him. I really doubt Esminginer Can call the game like Brady does...

I just don't see how he will. He never did before. I think I heard Jim Dunnaway compare this year for LSU to the 2010 year for Auburn and I think it's an astute comparison. A generational talent at QB paired with the absolute perfect offensive system for said QB. After Cam and Malzahn left Chizik, Auburn cratered. I don't think the same kind of fall awaits LSU; they've got too much talent elsewhere. But I can definitely see 9-3 or 8-4 next season. Seems like Auburn went 6-6 or 7-5 in 2011.

They still have Moss and Chase plus their backup RBs are pretty good. They’ll be a really tough out and compete for the West. I don’t think LSU or Auburn will win the West though. Alabama will be back in Atlanta this December.
They'll always be tough. The recruiting base is too rich. They were tough most years during that 8 game win streak, even when they ran an offense that the 1890 Yale team would have laughed at.

So much for all the cackling on ESPN this morning from the hangers-on (Ryan Clark and Marcus Spears) about Brady returning and finding Burrow's replacement, yada, yada, yada. I have said for weeks that LSU could only take steps back from this season, and now it looks like it'll be a football field. They get Bama in Baton Rouge -- people that don't know that series don't realize that we pay rent down there -- and they go on the road for a LOT of their big games, including A&M and Auburn. They'd better enjoy the talk while they can.

THIS MEANS YOU, TIM BRANDEAU..

I'm starting to wonder if Aranda is waiting for a specific job to open up or is he going to be the next Brent Venebles?
I wondered about that, too. There's a lot to be said for a well-respected college DC without any HC aspirations. That's especially true for one working for a HC who (1) is mediocre at best on the technicalities of the game, (2) knows that, and (3) knows he needs staff to supply the brainpower he himself doesn't have.

You make seven figures, sometimes with a leading number greater than 1.

You live in a college town where the money goes a long way. You're relatively unknown, and can go out in public and have a life that the HC can't. Your family isn't in quite the fishbowl as the HC's family.

You don't have the PR or HR headaches that the HC does.

You have a lot more job security in the sense that, if the HC gets fired, there's a good chance you might be retained by the new guy. Even if you aren't, you can easily go to a similar spot in a similar overall situation.

Not a bad gig.

Regarding continuation of success in the face of staff turnover and player defections to the NFL or transfer portal -- LSU and UGA have been riding our difficulties with those issues to titles, and their fanbases have been doing no small amount of crowing about how it's the result of it being so unpleasant in Tuscaloosa.

It will be interesting to see how they can handle it. Something tells me they will be eating a big old plate of crow. Those words taste a lot better going out than they do coming back in.

It's not a bad gig if the person and be happy and content doing it. I know I could be! LOL! I'd take the less stress of a HC for DC and they could pay me $1.5 MM all they want! LOL!

My questions -- is....

Does Carolina sell the farm and make a mammoth trade to obtain the #1 overall pick from the Bengals and then draft Burrow?
