jim tressel is a great coach, he has won at every level, he has beaten a southern team with a bunch of #1 draft picks, Pellini will be a distraction, LM will be a distraction( especially if michigan doesn't hire a coach!) I think osu gets it done, now that opinion may change as jan 7th gets closer
oh yeah, tressel has more class than miles by a mile!

Have to go with LSU!!!! SEC all the way be two years in a row..This really gotta make Auburn fans mad that they go 13-0 and no NC chance but a 2 loss team gets a chance!!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!:biggrin2:

This is the ONLY reason that i can think of that makes me somewhat glad that LSU got in. Just to pee off the Barners.

I just can't see OSU being a different team than last year's team that got blown out by UF. I even think that the game could be uglier since it's in New Orleans and it is LSU. Can't imagine how loud it'll be inside the Superdome with all those drunk LSU fans (redundant I know).

I could live with a full year's strike by all division 1 teams if it took that kind of revenue loss to shake up the NCAA, TV and corporate goons who are keeping us from a playoff. Anybody else? All great empires began with a revolution.
The big misconception here is thinking that determining the national champion is that big of a deal to the college football world. In the grand scheme of things, it just isn't.

What is important to the college teams is filling the stadiums and maximizing television revenue. If the crowning of a national champion is murky one year but revenue is up and the fans are mostly happy then everything is fine to the member schools.

The schools wouldn't go on strike against themselves.

I like OSU by 7+. Tressel is a far superior coach and LSU's talent isn't far superior to OSU's as much as some here would like to believe. Those Ohio kids love football too and are darn good. LSU played a tougher schedule, but was not dominant for the most part. OSU looked dominant until the Illinois game and beat a very good Michigan team. Also, don't underestimate the impact of Pellini's departure. That could be devastating to LSU.

I'll agree with the Pellini, LSU will miss him for sure.....Maybe Tressell is a better coach, cant argue it, BUT come on with the OSU good stuff
OSU in the SEC is a 2 loss at best team and I dont think you mean that
OSU 7+, its still early, still time to change your mind. :)

I see LSU beating them pretty good. I havent made up my mind if its like last years UF thumping or not yet.....

I picked the tigers to win. That's only if they get healthy. I don't think they can't do it with the backup QB. CBS was trying to make him into a superstar Saturday but I just don't see it.

Pellini will coach in the game, I'm not sure how distracted he'll be, but he will be there.

If I were Tom Osborne, Pellini wouldn't be spending another minute with LSU. Time for him to build a coaching staff and recruit. Recruits will want to know who their individual position coaches will be, and the best will have already made decisions about next year by Jan 7th.

Pellini cannot afford to wait another day, much less a month, to pull this together. He has a mountain of work to do...

The only thing that keeps OSU in this game is Les Miles' decision making and LSU penalties.
You forgot to add turnovers to that list. If LSU plays a flawless game, I think they win this game by at least 10. However, LSU hasn't really played a flawless game since the VT beatdown but the big reason I think LSU gets a double digit win is the location (this is basically a LSU home game) and they will get a chance to heal some injured players, especially Dorsey.

Ohio State is a FRAUD

Ohio State University is a FRAUD.

They play in a weak conference and load up the OOC schedule with patsies. They manage to stay healthy all year long because no one in the conference plays football hard enough to get hurt.

The problem I have is that LSU may not be good enough to expose them for the fraud they are. Actually, the team itself may be good enough, but the coach probably isn't. At least Urban Meyer had Florida focused and disciplined last year. While OSU hasn't improved one whit versus last year's flavor, the quality of opponent we're putting on the field against them has changed.

Les Miles will take this game personally. Across the field will be the hated Ohio State Buckeyes. The same Buckeyes who have embarrassed his beloved Big Blue year after year. This is his chance to step in and save the honor of his damsel in 'dis dress. He will try to out-manhood Ohio State and Tressel could simply out smart him.

I'm saying LSU by four with Miles on the field. Anyone else, it would be LSU by two scores (nine or better).

When healthy, LSU is more talented than Ohio State and the coaching has clearly been top rate at 33-6. If the game were played this weekend, I wouldn't bet a dime on LSU. There are a lot of banged up players after the rugged SEC schedule and it showed in the last two games. But with a month to recover, LSU should be hitting on all cylinders. LSU by 10 to 17 points.

LSU played a tougher schedule, but was not dominant for the most part.
Neither was Ohio State who played a mostly cupcake schedule.

I don't think so. It will be Pellini's familiar defense that will be used, just with another assistant coach making the substitutions and calls. Pellini was expected to move up to a head coach job this year anyway, Hell it almost happened last year. The players know this and Pellini told them after the Arkansas game that he was going to be leaving for Nebraska. It didn't devastate them in the SECCG.

I just hope we don't lose Gary Crowton this year, too. He's a proven head coach with a winning record, NFL experience, and has crafted some fine offenses everywhere he has been.

Here's my take on it. I know LSU should win this game by 14, but I've seen them get gradually worn as the season went by. I'm hoping they can get back to the form they had in the first part of the season. If so, it's going to be LSU by a bunch more.

As for the season, this has been the ugliest season I can ever remember. One thing for sure, nobody will be looking back on this season and remembering anything but lots of ugly football. If LSU wins, they will be the only 2-loss team to win it all. That's not a fancy stat to be proud of. However, if we get to take home another crystal egg, that's ALL I care about. We'll have next year to give it another shot at prettying it up, but I will take an NC any day of the week. As long as it goes down in the books as a win, I don't care. I'll take a 1-point win.

i like lsu to win. they are the better, experienced team. sec schedule vs. big ten schedule. who has ohio state beaten. a average michigan, loss to a good illinois team, that lost to missouri. if dorsey returns well, and flynn no contest. how can georgia claim anything. they were mauled by tenn, tenn lost to lsu game over.

What I want to happen is not necessarily what I think will happen. Before the SECCG I would have said LSU by 10+, and I'd love if they did. But the way they barely squeaked by UcheaT tells me they're really tired and really really glad this seasons about over. I have to think that CLM's gambling catches up with him in this game and OSU pulls out a win in the closing minutes.

Hopefully, 5 weeks will cure that.
