Agreed. Hoping the Phizer FDA results will get more Alabama and southeastern people vaccinated. Would love to have some of these folks around for many more years.
I think the FDA full approval probably does make a difference. It just happened. At least it does with me. I will probably get it now. I have had the virus twice and it was nothing (understand that is not the same for everyone). But I would not be honest if I didn’t say the vitriol I have received over this issue hasn’t played a part in the decision.

I can envision the lines to get into the stadium while every person produces their credentials, and then the arguments that ensue when some gate worker/ticket taker/medical designee decides to challenge said credentials - and the resulting fight. Some people will be lucky to get in time to see the teams postgame handshake lines.

I work in this every day. I am vaccinated. There are scientific reasons not to get a vaccine. Very rarely does anyone quote me a scientific reasons for not taking a vaccine. Of all the dead and dying people I have seen only one has been vaccinated. I have seen plenty of vaccinated people get what I presume is the delta variant. Compared to the original strain my experiential data is that this is much worse on men and there is epidemiological data to back this up

I know I am tired of seeing healthy and not healthy 30,40 and 50 year old men die after a prolonged illness. Not to mention the 60 and 70 year olds
I hope you didn't get the wrong context out of what I was saying. I'm totally for the vaccines, My whole family has had them, all the way through our grandkids, great grandkids not quite old enough yet...

I did not and have no desire to get into the politics of vaccines. I do not yet want the vaccine mandated. I am just weary of working in the sickness and dying and most of these good people never thought it would be them

Dang, I love corn dogs. Is that bad?
The NY Post posted an article yesterday that a hot dog takes 35 min off your life. Well, after today I'm down 70 minutes 😁.

It is the NY Post, so I was willing to risk it.

Probably at 35k or in an airport somewhere

Fascinating. Two points:
  1. I'm willing to bet that's as much correlation as causation; maybe more correlation. I.e., people who eat a lot of hot dogs probably also make other unhealthy lifestyle choices that tend to lower life expectancy; but will an occasional hot dog consumed by an otherwise healthy person have any discernable effect?
  2. If point one is wrong, the same study showed a gain of 33 minutes for each PB&J sandwich. So, put PB&J on your hotdog and pretty much eat all the hotdogs you want...

I agree with LSU's decision (can't believe I just typed those words).
4Q Basket Case's prediction: There will be either a new wave or a new variant that makes the current situation look mild. The Federal government, whether through Congress or an Executive Order, will override all countervening state laws and require vaccination to do just about anything. There will be a federally-maintained database identifying who is and who isn't vaccinated.

The law and the database will be challenged in court. SCOTUS will hear the appeals in about nothing flat, and they'll both be upheld. Gaming the system, and getting logged in as vaccinated when you really aren't will be a serious felony. Not saying idiots won't try it, but it won't be easy, and if they're caught, consequences will be severe.

Insurance companies will either (1) start charging non-vaccinated people a higher premium, as they currently do with smokers, or (2) unless you're vaccinated, specifically carve out COVID as a covered condition.
That was my thought too. Hammer the ones caught with fake vac cards so badly it will deter anyone else from trying it. Make an example of them.
