No it didn't go bad but could very easily have become mass mayhem if the Gators had poured out onto the field. They don't call this game the "world's largest outdoor cocktail party" for nothing. You can bet there were a bunch of drunks in the stands and their behavior is already bad and unpredictable to say the least.lol. it didnt seem to boneheaded to me,look at the end result.did fights break out?was anyone shoved? none of the things you mentioned happened. bottom line is florida got dismantled and humiliated on national t.v. they didnt look so big and bad saturday afternoon. like i said we have endured far worse from them, they had it coming.
The whole idea was for UGA to be "in your face" to the Gators.. It was bush league nothing more nothing less.
It was out of place, uncalled for and without a doubt the riskiest and DUMBEST thing a head coach of a major D1 school has ever endorsed and encouraged. If it had gone south with fights breaking out the fallout would have been tremendous. THE HEAD COACH ENCOURAGED IT for crying out loud!
One week CMR is keeping his players off of the Vanderbuilt logo. The next week he is encouraging his players to break the rules and be as provocative and unsportsmanlike as they possibly can be.
It was wrong and it had all of the potential to be terribly wrong.
