there’s only one team in America with a better résumé than Alabama, and they’re literally on the schedule, at home, a week from today.

folks, we’re literally at the pinnacle. The next closest threat got beat by a team that got beat by *South Carolina* tonight, and the next team after that, Houston, we have both beaten on a neutral floor.

Bask in it. Alabama and Auburn are the best teams in America right now and will be 1 and 2 come Monday, with our battle for supremacy a week away.
It's a crazy time for basketball in Alabama!

That Florida team is very good and a big threat which we just saw first hand. I will take #1 but would have preferred the Barn coming in at #1 instead of us.

To be completely honest I’ll be shocked if they jump us. But that’ll resolve itself either way.
I tend to agree. We have rarely shown the 3 pt shooting skill UF showed. Without that, we're overmatched with Broome in the middle. I wouldn't be surprised if the voters took that into account and kept us at 1-2, which is fine with me...

RTR for the win!

There is. Arky is really stinking good in spite of their record. They were at home.
IMO, a lot of the blame is on the officials. They let Ark get away with murder, especially the final 5 minutes. Ark was hacking and swinging arms all over the place and nothing was called. Hitting Bama players in the head and nothing was called. Giving Calipari free timeouts with countless reviews granted. The person running the clock has to hit button, it takes a moment. Should get to review for time every stoppage, they don’t do that in the middle of the game.

In the final 5 minutes, Bama was called for 5 fouls, Ark 2 (both with under :05 in the game). You think officiating is bad in football, it’s downright cheating in basketball. It ruins the fun of the sport for me.

Love this team...I have never seen a perfect team (but some have been close.) Every championship team I have seen this side of UCLA/John Wooden had tough games that they either lost or pulled out at the end. This team is talented and plays hard...they have a shot at winning the big dance.

Really, how many times does a ref have to "check the clock". And, I don't know the rules, but can a coach ask for a review of a play when they have no more time outs?
Apparently so; that's what Calipari did and the announcers were complimenting him on doing it to, basically, get a timeout. Not sure if the refs have the discretion to refuse?

How long do they have to review those? Could they wait until the final shot of a game and potentially change the winner?
I think this is out it works:

The game is stopped and the goaltending or basket interference calls are immediately reviewed during the last four minutes of the game and during overtime. When play is stopped for this and the call is reversed, if there is a clear possession of the rebound, the team will get the ball for the throw in. If no clear possession, then alternating possession is used.

now imagine a game ending blocked shot being overturned and called goal tending

Man, that was an ugly win! 18 point lead that we just about blow! Poor rebounding, defense and too many stupid turnovers.

Roll Tide, I never get tired of winning.

Won despite Sears having a mediocre game and another boatload of TO. I know he won the hard hat but hopefully he can keep adapting and cut those down. Stevenson made a good strong basket but goodness needs to keep working on offense, at times I wish we could do a hockey style sub and switch him out on offense. lol
