Pope is a good coach. I could see Kentucky making a mini run in the tournament. Depending on matchups.Bama could have named their score. After the midway point of the second half it was clear UK wanted to be anywhere else besides Bridgestone Arena. They were injured, tired and Bama was clearly head and shoulders better.
That being said I’d be very happy were I a UK fan with the season they have had under Pope. Even with all the injuries that have forced them to play half a season without a PG making the tournament at all with this patchwork roster is a coaching masterclass. This is probably the worst roster Pope will have at UK as well.
Did you watch a different game?Roll Tide, Philon and Cliff game ball. Will say is guards besides Philon play like last night Bama will lose to any team with decent guards.
Depends on if they can stay healthy.Pope is a good coach. I could see Kentucky making a mini run in the tournament. Depending on matchups.
Sears literally could not stay with his man on or off ball on defense. Took some really bad shots. Not worried about his offense but his offense did come after game was out of reach as did Halloway’s. Point is we have been poor at guarding guards. UK did not have their guards so didn’t matter last night. We will see today how the guards do against some of the best competition again. We are talking about playing as a good team vs championship level.Did you watch a different game?
the other three guards scored 32, 12 assists to 5 TOs, 2 steals, and smothered their guards on defense. Sears struggled shooting, but he takes off so much pressure so others can play more open.
